Toronto based network jokes aside, it's insane they didn't include Karlsson who has more Norris' than anyone except Lidstrom in this timeframe. & I'm not even a Karlsson fan.

It's weird how they talk about the best NHL players and then use international criteria as a way to elevate some.

As a Kings homer it's hard to see a guy like Toews be ahead of Kopitar when their peaks were similar and Kopitar has the BIG edge in longevity as well as consistency over that time and the reason being WJC and Olympic status when Kopitar doesn't even really get a chance in that area.

End of the day though, it's just a list and doesn't really matter overall. Surprised to see Doughty that high too.

No idea what they were thinking with Malkin at 19.

I don't know how you can put him below Datsyuk, let alone 12 spots back.
They even had in his write up that he is second in playoff points during the time period.

Kopitar at 24 is really bad as well.

How is a 100 greatest players of all time in Toews 1 spot behind a guy who didn't even make the list in Malkin?

lol. Maybe Canada (Toronto) should be an American state after all, considering the intelligence of that article

Consider the source. Written for Canadian fans.

It's a 2000s list without Jagr.
What?

2 Lesters, 2 Art Rosses, 3 first-team all-star selections, etc etc. That's Jagr just from 2000 onwards.

Malkin & Datsyuk should be swapped.

Kuch & Mack are starting to make an argument over Malkin but as of now they are at best on par.

Malkin is so disrespected and under appreciated it's crazy. He was as solidly the 3rd best player of his generation as Crosby/Ovechkin were 1&2. Crosby, Ovi, McDavid, Lidstrom, and Brodeur are the only players with an argument over Malkin afaic.
