I personally took this snapshot of my TV set while watching the game:

... also note this happened in a game against his former team, the Rangers, whose players form the background of that picture.

The fact that Jordin Tootoo wore #22 is not much of a 'coincidence' but the fact that he was born on February 22nd has to be.

Way back when, in the QMJHL, the three top scorers at one point were Denis Savard, Denis Cyr, and Denis Tremblay -- Le Trois Denis. They played on the same team, and the same line. But, more than that, they were all born on the exact same day!

It doesn't get any better than this...

Imagine going to a hockey game and acting like a tough guy and teasing a player who gets hit with a puck, only to act like that ^ after being hit with a puck yourself.

My favourite part of this besides the whole thing, is the woman that is with this guy, is laughing at him hard after Sullivan skates by.

Devastating what crack did to our cities in the 80s and early 90s. Way too many stories like this out there
IIRC, Spencer's father was arrested after Brian's first NHL game because the CBC wasn't showing the Toronto game (with his son making his debut) so he went up to the local CBC affiliate (somewhere up province in BC, I think) and shot the person in charge.

Didn’t shoot the station director, but held him at gunpoint and demanded he broadcast his son’s game. His father was then shot and killed by police when they arrived on the scene.

I did earlier in the year. I was scrolling back in blocks of 10 years to figure out I think it was Barrie's offensive ranking for D scoring and how it compared to previous decades? It just so happened to align with the 10 season blocks of Lidstrom's career as I went further back. It was already stupid close, so on a whim I added 7 games from '01-'02 to make the games played even and voila... cuts his offensive production in half evenly. That the playoffs are that closely aligned as well is bonkers.

Every team that has eliminated the Matthews era Leafs in the playoffs (excluding play-in) has gone on to play in the SCF the same year or next

2017 - Lost to Washington, Washington wins the cup in 2018
2018 and 2019 - Lost to Boston, 2019 Boston plays in the SCF
2021 - Lost to Montreal, 2021 Montreal plays in the SCF
2022 - Lost to Tampa Bay, 2022 Tampa Bay plays in the SCF
2023 - Lost to Florida, 2023 and 2024 Florida plays in the SCF and wins it in 2024

I personally believe teams suck the souls out of Toronto and our fan base and use it to power their own playoff run. If Boston makes the SCF this season, it is pretty much confirmed.

Montreal Canadian Claude Julien, Micheal Terrien... I swear that's the only 2 guys who've coached them the last 25 years/since the early 2000's.
