I don’t watch much of the WHL and I’m just wondering if people think they’ll be going for it, retooling or rebuilding?

Assuming Catton is back. Will he get traded?

They're gonna be in tough to replace the offence they're losing. Roulette and Bertholet combined for 179 points with 69 goals, which is 25.9% of the goals they scored last year.

They've got a high-end rookie in Mathis Preston, but how much are they banking on him to produce? I wouldn't be shocked if Catton got a 9-game look in the NHL, depending who drafts him. That could leave Spokane without him until November-ish. Then he's definitely going to play at World Juniors this year, so there's another 7~ games without him. By the time the trade deadline rolls around they might have only gotten like 15 games out of him.

If Catton continues on his current trajectory, I'd say there's little to no chance he plays in the WHL at 19, so it might be best for Spokane to move him.

Cristall and Catton would be a treat to watch every night holy- not even factoring in rising young star Mathis Preston who I think goes top 10 next year

They are loaded offensively and it turns out that Roulette and Bertholet were the products of Catton and aren't real prospects go figure eh?

I really like Preston as a prospect but I think that catton will be gone next year and christall is just a rental so I'm not sure that he will have enough help to be top 10 in goals.

Maybe about Catton. Tough to say. The big leagues are a whole other animal. Catton would be playing behind Beniers, Stephenson and Wright next year and would be competing with Firkus, Morrison, winterton and sale next year for other spots.

I think he’s back next year and probably gets traded at some point but should be there for a little bit anyways.

Preston should still have some decent players around him even if catton gets traded- Oremba, Harrington and Martin probably all take leaps next year with guys like van olm, cristall, ekstrom all gone

Sure, it's so hard to tell and depends a lot on which players graduate and which come back for many teams but I guess with draft eligible Bear and Schmidt in the top 5 this year for goals it could certainly happen.
