I really liked this pick. I was hoping my own team would take this kid.

Early in the season, I don't know if I would've even considered Stastney a draftable player, but the more I watched, the more I really appreciated his play. He really did go missing on a team with a lot of stars. And not in a bad way. He played a really reliable two way game. There just wasn't that much to say other than he was doing his job in a quiet way. He can play in all situations, PP, PK, right side, left side. He might be undersized, but he's defends well, and he's a smart player. I don't think he'll struggle to keep up defensively in the NHL. You'd look at his size, and expect him to be an offensive defensemen, but he's really not. Not that he's bad offensively, but not really a flashy player. He's pretty solid in all aspects. Park him at ND for four years, and after that you likely get a nice contributor to your bottom 4.

I heard that Spencer Stastney is from Mequon. That is just over the border to the north of Milwaukee Country, so he is a homeboy.

When he shows up here after his ND season is over, the cheers will be deafening!

BTW, Nashville still needs more RHD!

Eh in Stastney’s case I don’t think we should really be mad at the media. They stated he’s out indefinitely which could be any number of things and do think these guys deserve some degree of privacy when it comes to things like that.

Based off comments made by Tomasino earlier, i assume it’s either a wonky noodle from a concussion or a personal matter.

The only thing I wish the “media” would tell us is it’s injury related or not. Concerned for the kid either way, just would be nice to know if it’s something he’s going to be able to come back from or even want to come back at all.
