Speculation: Speculation on Max Pacioretty

Way more confident in Patches coming back and having an impact than Hakanpaa. We've seen him be a forechecking and physical beast when he's played, and he's got a scoring touch. A third line of him, Domi, and Laughton should be handful and could potentially pot a few big goals.

Pacioretty definitely just seems to fit that mold of an old vet scoring a big goal in the playoffs for sure.

No way he isn’t ready for playoffs. I’d get him into last two games. He’s a wildcard, but a good one to have for sure.

The Leafs have no cap room to activate Pacioretty from LTIR. They would need to waive someone to create the room and I think the only waver exempt player is Knies. So unless another player ends up going on LTIR, I think it's unlikely we'll see Patches before the playoffs.

Oct. 28th /2024 vs. WPG

Patches got 3 assists and was a +3.

His game logs haven't looked the same since.

I hope he can return to his early season form...

..,my dude.

That’s ok. Keep him healthy for as long as possible. As kypreos has said a few times they just need him playing the way he can for 2-3 weeks to get through 1-2 rounds. He may not last past that physically

Yeah that's the stuff. If Hak is fit I wouldn't rule him out either. He kinda came in for a brief conditioning stint mid season, but why is he out there now all of a sudden? This is why we got him right - its sorta lining up. Reavo might dress too if we play in Florida.

Some teams hold out Kucherov, Tkachuk and Hertl until the playoffs…we have Patches
I mean the dude has had some really bad injury luck. He had moments this season where you could see glimpses of his skill and grit, and he was a beast on the cycle at times. He didn't do much for Washington last post-season (they were a terrible team though), but prior to that he had 15 goals and 30 pts in 36 playoff games with Vegas which is quite respectable. He could be completely cooked at this point, but it's hard to say, doesn't hurt to give him a look though, can't be possibly worse than a cardio merchant like Holmberg.

He’s definitely better than some of the bottom 6. Let’s hope he can make it through a game

the impact he had is understated

what sucks is its not replicatable for a 37 year old

that's the problem with our depth, we never have guys who are year in year out produces except domi, so when we do get these type of miracle performances, we end up wasting them.

Similar to Kerfoot and Galchenyuk's magic in the montreal series

He has 5 kids..and said it was very hard on him to be away from them. Sounds like he has no interest in coming back to T.O.

Hell end up in a rebuild team until deadline and then may get flipped for a 5th rounder

He was good but even he was ineffective as time went on.

Too slow. But appreciated the fact that he gave a Damm

Great goals great hits

Leafs got good value from him,. especially in the playoffs. I'd be interested in potentially an extension with an understanding to the player he likely won't always be a lineup regular.

He's best thought of at this point as the 13th forward
