Speculation: Speculation on Max Pacioretty

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server

I know he's on injured reserve, but could he play again? I know everyone is down on most things leafs these days, but can you see him getting back in the line-up?

I'm trying to stay positive here. It would great if could return and play as well as he did at the beginning of the season.

Did I miss some kind of report saying he's done?

Come playoffs, I think he’d be more valuable in the lineup over someone like Robertson or Holmberg so hopefully he can return at some point.

He will be in the lineup for game 1 of the playoffs. He did us a solid, by sitting the rest of the year so we could use his cap.

Hard to say he does play heavy hoccey but Robbies a better shooter faster and more tenacious but he’s a veteran so his brain is still better

I'd like to see him draw back in if he's healthy. There was a stretch where him, JT and Nylander formed a pretty impressive line that was monstrous on the forecheck and cycle. It was a shame he pulled his hammy, he was looking really good before that.

I'd certainly prefer him in the lineup over Holmberg. He played well with JT and is a heavier player who could earn himself another year or two in the league if he somehow cracks the playoff lineup.

Plays a playoff style game. Guy hits like a truck and can punch in the odd goal.
Maybe he spoke with management and said to leave him on IR until playoffs. If he wants to win a cup why bother playing the regluar season when you are as injruy riddled as him?

He's been out since early February and has been practicing. Large injuries can take 8-10 weeks which would line up perfectly with the start of playoffs.

What I don't know is if we have the cap room for him to play this season, although it likely wouldn't be hard to shuffle things around to fit him in.

REMEMBER....no cap in the playoffs.

Which is a very dumb rule about to be exploited by Florida

In the first eight games, he put up six points and 24 hits. He made a difference. That's the guy I want on my team.

In the last thirteen games, he has one point.

So which Patches do we get? How long does he last? I mean, the first eight games version... him replacing Holmberg would be great for the team.

The last thirteen games... might as well leave Holmberg there.

I'm all for sitting him until the playoffs, if he returns to the form he had early on. If it's the more recent version of Patches, he can stay on Robidas Island...
