Don't come at me too hard. Clearly there are no offensive statistics to satisfy you or anyone else. Yet he is considered by many to be a great player. It's hard to believe that he's played on 3 other teams after Vancouver. Why wasn't he a VAN CAN for life player? He does have a World Championship under his belt.

Why is it so hard to recognize great players?

He's a guy you really like having on your team and a warrior... but hell no.

He doesn't have the accolades. Has never come close to a Norris or been a top five defensemen.

Because in Jim Benning’s exact own words: “We ran out of time”.

No, but I feel like if he was an 06 or earlier player who won a bunch of championships on the Leafs or Habs and he might have been. He’s a guy you don’t fully appreciate unless you see him every night. But a better version like Slavin won’t even get in.

No Craig Ludwig. No Tanev.
