Value of: Sorokin, Barzal

Islanders need a complete rebuild, another poster in the fire sale thread left these guys out but reality is given Sorokin and Barzals age who are at or approaching middle age in hockey what would these guys fetch, even though there is a much better chance of Lou trading our 1st round pick again than going with the re-tool/re-build option.

Guys you keep and build around.

Everyone has a price but it’s absolutely asinine for the islanders to trade either of them.

And LOL at age. Barzal is 26 and Sorokin is 28 and signed long term. You don’t trade away the only elite talents you have. Ridiculous

they are going to be 27 and 29 next year, and build on what? what can the Islanders do to make this team a contender in the next 5-6 years or so which is probably how much time they have left to be peak players

they need a re-build, Roy is doing little, a great coach who isn't and wont be available might be able to get an extra 5 wins or so out of this team and there is absolutely nothing a GM could do to make this team a contender in the next 5 years or so which is about how long the window is given the structure of the team
