Sony PS5 2

Bluepoint must have had everyone working on that cancelled God of War multiplayer game because it’s coming up on 6 years now with nothing in sight from them.
 
I heard they are working on a super top secret Bloodborne remake :sarcasm:

It's been 4.5 years since the Demon's Souls remake was released and they did some work on Ragnarok. Would not surprise me if Sony had them working on some other things, too, but they are working on an original IP. Sony's got a lot riding on them, so they will get as much time as they need...hopefully.
 
Is the Silent Hill 2 remake any good? Mrs. Impala and I want to play a scary game and we both love the movie. $70 seems a bit dumb of a price.
 
Over $100 a year just to be able to play online now???

As a former PS1-PS3 owner, I remember when the PSN was free for online play.

And with this news…my desire to get a console for GTA VI diminishes even further.

I hear what you're saying, but it's not $100 'just' to play online. You also get 3 free games monthly. Yes, a number of them are not for me, but if I look at 2024, I've either played or am interested in:

A Plague Tale: Requiem
Evil West
Rollerdome
Sifu
Tunic
FC24
NHL 24
Among Us
MLB The Show 24
Little Nightmares 2
Dead Space

To each their own if all you care about is the online aspect, but even with the price increase, it's still easily worth it for someone like me.

You can change different components in a PC unlike a console. You don't have to upgrade everything at once if some components are still viable.
 
Every game is designed to run on consoles to begin with and GPU advancements have been hitting diminishing returns for a while now. Unless you want every bell and whistle in every game at all times (something that you wouldn't get on a console anyways) then I don't see why you would have to upgrade your PC any more often than a console generation. The most common GPUs on Steam are still 30 series and below.

Plus it’s the wrong question to ask. No you can’t build a capable PC for $400 usd or below or whatever it’s on sale for these days (of course that price is extremely different outside the US but that’s another conversation).

Most people are going to want to have a PC in their house anyways, in which case slotting in a low power graphics card for the price of a PS5, that’s way more powerful is not that hard.

Now if you did want to build a PC from scratch, you’re gonna have to set aside $1000 USD for a semi-modern build I will admit that, but not in the multiple thousands. This is just a random build I slapped together in five minutes that blows either console away.


I like my ps5 but the prices are getting more and more untenable there where it’s just so much cheaper on PC. The last straw for me was seeing new releases be cheaper on steam day 1 then on console. I just couldn’t rationalize it anymore.
