Sony PS5 2

The early in the year showcase is rarely great, so I wasn't expecting much since they already showed off Ghost of Yotei and the new ND game to end the year.

I'm excited about that Shinobi game as I absolutely loved their work on Streets of Rage 4. But, I'll probably get that on Switch (or Switch 2) as that's my preferred platform for those types of games.

Saros looks cool and there were some other smaller things I liked. Overall nothing special but I wasn't expecting any big announcements anyways.

The Sonic Racing game looks cool. It was nice to get a release window for Stellar Blade on PC and I'm interested in Saros and Tides of Annihilation as well. The rest of the show wasn't very interesting

Potentially a good showing. The Long Walk looks great. Lies of P DLC. Basically Returnal 2. Otherwise lots of new IPs that we'd have to wait and see on though. Hell is Us and Tides of Annihilation looked neat. Lost Soul Aside will probably sell 20 million. Also not surprising that Bensies just went and made GTA again.

Just remaster Bloodborne for me and I'm fine. I used to be against these remasters of old games but I just got a PS5 last May after not having one since PS1. It's been nice to replay these older games that have a fresh coat of paint on them.

I don't know what people expect from these things, but I thought it was one of the more interesting ones TBH.

Saros was the crown jewel of this one. I loved Returnal. I would not be mad at a direct sequel, but I appreciate them going with a new IP. Maybe they will make some interesting tweaks. Can't wait to see more.

Midnight Walk looks awesome. Who knows how it will play, but I love the style.

Dreams of Another is another one I don't know how it will play, but looks cool and is an interesting, fresh idea.

Tides of Annihilation looks promising.

Some DLC announcements of games I've been meaning to play Lies of P and Dave the Diver.

Hell is Us and Metal Gear Solid release dates.

There were a number of games that look similar to other games which...ya know...it's not industry altering or anything, but if they execute it well could be fun games. Metal Eden (DOOM), Directive 8020 (Until Dawn), Darwin's Paradox (Limbo, albeit a little more kid friendly).

There's was a bunch of stuff I don't necessarily care about, but I know have big fan bases. Monster Hunter, Borderlands 4, a Sonic racing game, Five Nights at Freddy's, and a Days Gone remaster.

The PS5 controller battery is bad. I've turned the controller speaker off already but I still don't get much of a charge with it. The xbox controller is 10x better from my experience.

I've given up on this until at least PS6. I could maybe see them making it a launch title like they did with Demon's Souls.

With Demon Souls did they just do a graphical enhancement or did they go in and modernize the game code to make it feel like a game made in 2020? I think that was you I've talked about this before but it's hard to play some older games for me sometimes because the QoL adjustments made over the years are so much better nowadays.

Probably was. I've struggled with some older games such as Alan Wake 1.

I didn't play the original Demon's Souls, but they modernized it. They added 8 directional rolling. You can send stuff to storage more easily. I think they rerecorded the dialogue and music. I think some animations were added/improved. Stuff like that.

It's still my least favorite of the Soulsbourne games I've played (all but DS2), but I wouldn't say it was because of QoL.

Bloodbourne is nearly perfect, though. Just needs graphic improvements and it would be nice to warp between locations without going back to the hub.

Yea the big thing with this one in particular is that a lot of these games are new IPs, and on top of that a lot of them are being made by new studios, so we're kinda in the dark in terms of expectations. Feels basically impossible to feel strongly about them one way or another at this point.

Will say it's funny how many people seem to be trashing MindsEye even though it's literally the lead GTA guy going and making cyberpunk GTA. No substitute for brand recognition I guess.
