I feel like he’s played well. That third line seems to be putting up decent games.
It has the right mix of physicality, skating, and skill. People like to poo-poo Berggren, but he's the glue that allows Ras and Elmer to be a functioning 3rd line that can actually score a bit. If it were Joe or Fischer or Motte on that other wing, it would just be grinding in the corners unless Elmer does something all by himself. And to add, Kane and Tank don't have the wheels or hustle that Burgers has.

Burgers has earned the right to hold down a 3rd line wing spot for the next couple years for us imo. Unless we trade him in a package for a defenseman or center. Otherwise he’s much better than someone like veleno.

Elmer and Burger makes Ras looks better than he is. Both will get better. Eventually Kasper will join that line.

That line has been our MvP on this trip along with the goalies.
This road trip has been rewarding…Young guys getting an opportunity to shine, our duo between the pipes has proven to be our mvp/s, and McLellan has been a refreshing addition for the mental health for us fans and with the win against Vancouver it really gives us a feel that ‘April In The D’ is gonna happen!

yup , been pushing the 2 swedes to be together on the 3rd line ...much rather have them there then the likes of veleno fischer etc..

I like berggren but I dont see him being here longterm unless our prospects coming bust, which wouldnt be a good thing. If we get a top 4 dman and hes included in a package deal for someone like that fine

Otherwise try and build up his production so he'll have a higher trade value when the time comes.

Elmer is here to stay. Points in 4 straight games, big physical player we need. Go find yourself a home kid

Danielson will be the 3c with them next season. Kasper is staying at the top for a while with the way that line is playing

Just 2 months ago thought he might go play in Europe for good after this season and now , he is one of the best in the big club.

Yzerman probably going to bring defansman and wave Holl, but he also could be after Cozens. Who knows what lines will be looking like

Ya I think this season he'll likely chase a dman who's not a pending ufa and nothing else

I'd probably target oleksiak with his name being out there apparently maybe a 2nd + wallinder/cleveland

Think I'd rather have buium ahead of wallinder atm + Johansson's rise can make him expendable+ pellikka

Oleksiak seider
Edvinsson johansson
Chiarot gustafsson

I'd probably try and get seattle to take on gustafsson in the deal so we get rid of a contract next season for pellikka... maybe call up tuomisto or wallinder if we can make the move without him??

2nd rd + gustafsson + Viro?

Oleksiak seider
Edvinsson Johansson
Chiarot wallinder
Holl

I'd rather make a big move for a k'andre miller or hague but I dont think those guys will be moved anytime soon

Until the puck comes around the boards to Rasmussen and Ol' Stone Hands f***s it up. I only saw the second half of last night's game yet can still recall at least three separate occasions that that line was cycling the puck in the offensive zone until the puck came to Rasmussen and he immediately turned it over. He's been more engaged physically lately, but he is still an offensive anchor to any line he's on.

He doesn't have NHL hands or a shot. Which is wild considering how many years he could have been working on it.. I like Ras but Solderblom is what we wanted Ras to be all along.

I was thinking that last night while watching the game. Ras's stick is where plays go to die.

It's become more obvious as that line plays better. When he gets the puck he seems so eager to get rid of it that it often ends up being a bad play.

Well - if that's the case - there needs to be a replacement for Rasmussen...I'm thinking another Swede - have our own Tre Kronor line...I'm certain Vancouver would be more than excited to trade Pettersson straight-up for hometown hero Rasmussen.....

:naughty:

This is a great story so far honestly. Bringing him up has created another productive line. Totally came out of left field for me. I had the guy pegged as fodder.

Rasmussen is fine, he’s slightly overpaid but remember last year he had 33 points in 75 games. He’d having a down year for sure but he’s capable of better. Sometimes when I see him with the puck he plays just so risk adverse, a guy like him is probably still undoing what Lalonde did to his development and told him how to play. He brings size and PK to our team, even if he’s just on the 4th line I’m okay with him.

I am encouraged by his play, I know the board even in this thread is hating on Ras but he and Elmer fit well together and allow Berggren space. I have noticed they dump the puck to Ras in tough spots but you can see Elmer mirroring some of what Ras does in those spots. I didn’t think they were quite as good last night but I like the chemistry. Also since they get a lot of bottom pairings the freakish size of Elmer and Ras really seems to cause problems.

Been saying it since he came over to NA. I really think this kid has star potential. Idk how likely he is to hit it, but his tools are unlike anything I’ve seen
His skating has come a long way since when he first showed up in NA. You could expect some growth there but without a substantial increase I could see why people were lower even with the hands.
