Lot of comments about nepotism in the last round table the team puts out on the main YouTube page.

The team clearly knows it’s a topic that’s talked about, and the response as as predictable as one could guess.

They try really hard to sell that an organization of former Flyers is a positive.

I don't really care if they hire an ex-Flyer, but if the main selling point is "He knows what it means to be a Flyer", then we aren't conducting an honest and efficient process. I'm ambivalent about Tocchet and hope he can help players excel in their development through positive communication instead of the so-called tough love that was really selective under-the-bus tossing without explanation. It would be very eye opening to hear the FO explain the 3-4 key objectives they were looking for their coaching candidate to meet, and to discern how contradictory they were.

I think it is more the contract. Tippett has the tools, but hasn't truly put all the tools together, and if he never does, it's going to be a long contract, but not god awful. This contract always felt it was hoping for upside and for Tippett to become elite "at a discount" later, but he's 26 now. Not old, but not young, either. If the Flyers are starting to wonder about him, they could get cold feet and sell to someone who thinks they can bring more out of him.
