Make one trade of a player that the coach didn’t feud with…

“You idiot. You fool. Trading a player of this caliber is outright tanking!”

See, the Flyers do this thing where they begrudgingly trade negative impact players and borderline improve by subtraction. Besides Frost, which also helps the rebuild because [insert bullshit]. But they keep other guys because they need to sell tickets and, well, it’s not a fire sale!

Still not a rebuild, Chaz. It’s just having their cake and eating it too, like always. But there’s no cake and they’re eating wet cement. It’s a 1st three drafts away, while wanting cap space to contend in the next 18 months. They remain no closer to assembling a contender.

A little out of the loop as I deleted my X/Twitter account years ago and get most of my (non-hockey) sports news from an Instagram account that makes the involved players look like Minions.

Does any other team’s beat writers do the same thing as the Flyers’ where they are overly condescending towards the fanbase?

I'm also interested in beat writers of other teams, are they all propaganda wings that are rarely (if ever) openly critical of the team they cover like the Flyers' beats? Genuine question.

The Flyers definitely have a tighter grip on their media than the other teams in this city. Two advantages they have going for them is Comcast owns the local sports tv channel here (NBC Sports). The other is it’s a niche product so their media contingent is much smaller than the others.

So I’m not a basketball fan so I don’t watch the Sixers but the Phillies broadcast on the same channel as the Flyers. It’s not uncommon for John Kruk & Ricky Bottalico to go nuts on the Phillies broadcast. These guys would go nuts like 10 years ago when the team was in a clear rebuild phase just hammering the team.
