Pathologically incapable of ever admitting he was wrong about anything, which is just crazy work given his exhaustively documented track record.
Back in the 2017-2018 season, when I was still dumb enough to think there was a reason to have discussions with people, I remember showing side-by-side photographic proof of him contradicting himself about Konecny’s usage/development in a matter of days and he still refused to admit he was wrong in either take.

As much as posting on here for the past 13 years has mostly just been a way to goof around and kill time, I have actually learned some valuable lessons. “It’s impossible to change anyone’s mind on any topic and they’ll never admit that they were wrong, no matter what, so don’t even bother trying” is near the top of that list.

That Steve Isser Twitter account could cover every possible post in this thread. I’ve followed hockey discourse for awhile online and there are few (if any) people I’ve seen who have consistently worse takes than this dude. I’m almost impressed at the smooth-braininess on display

Gotta admit, his username was 100% accurate

There’s still 1% of me that thinks he was just an old retired guy who was f***ing with us because he was bored.
You know what? Maybe this is what i do when the music career finally ends. I'm 37, this ride can't go on much longer, maybe i'll start looking towards the future and find some terrible hockey opinions to attach myself to

I also think this is the case, the mental gymnastics to argue everything while also being generally respectful had me thinking it was like debating with the old and rambling (possibly drunk) uncle.

That job description has got to be incredibly short:

- for any "The Flyers did this move wrong", manufacture a "Aaaaakhcthualllly they did not do worse than..." quote
- be able to get paid

Chuck’s warming up to Nurse. The funny part is that he was somehow surprised the entirely unsurprising Flyers are interested. Former top 10 pick, big name, local connection, high AAV, limited puck moving ability but plays the right way…. It’s got New Error of Orange written all over it.
