Is Ronaldo chasing a scoring record or something? Hilarious that Portugal rests their entire team except him.

Gonçalo Ramos is the only other pure CF they have... and tbh at this venture in career he is probably a better "pure" goalscorer than Ronaldo.

BUT he picked up a knock last match, after the game... from an awful sliding tackle from a steward who was chasing a pitch invader and fell. Seriously. He only returned to proper training yesterday.

They took like 7 guys who can play wing and only 2 whose best position is through the middle. Ofc Jota can play there too... but does not too often.

But tbh they just dont have many out and out goalscorers through the middle. The guys left at home were Bruma, Horta, Trincão, Mota, Carlos Forbs and Jota Silva, who are ALL wingers too.

The 3rd best out and out CF who is Portuguese right now? Probably Paulinho who last played for Portugal in 2020... and just moved to the Mexican league aha. Fábio Silva (Rangers) and Youssef Chermiti (Everton) might round out the top 5... but both very young and not great players yet, just "Talented".

Portugal ends up in the half bracket of death with Spain, Germany, and France.

England and Italy luck out, but would face each other in the quarters if they get through R16.

The English probably singing "It's coming home" again just because they have an easy route to the final, only to lose against Italy/Switzerland in the QF.

That sentiment has followed England since 2018. "If they're serious about winning, the need to remove their association with Southgate for good."

I know Berhalter left the USMNT and (probably) shouldn't have been brought back, but the message is the same: nations that need to jettison coaches that aren't not putting their sides in the best position to fulfill their potentials.

The Berhalter jokes are hilarious. If USMNT had any ambition in winning they would have gotten rid of him (for good) after the last World Cup.
f*** off .

Though to be fair, England has a squad that can win the Euros and World Cup. Maybe Jurgen takes that job. Id love for Southgate to go to United as rumored before when ETH gets sacked.
