Soccer / Football Thread Part Seven

I am looking forward to 2030... provisional plan is to try and go to some of the games in Morocco. Will be wild.

Hassan II Stadium looks like it will be incredible when finished. Largest stadium on earth.

Can also probably go to some games at Estadio da Luz... with a wink wink, nudge nudge, please get me tickets guys... but maybe being optimistic there.

Getting to a Gold Cup match in this year. Canada opens their tournament in Vancouver against Honduras. Their other two group games are in Houston.

I'll be pretty bummed if I'm not at one of Canada's World Cup games in Vancouver. I'm on as many lists as I can get on to get tickets, though. :laugh:

Yes. Man United is building 100k seat stadium next to Old Trafford

Im behind watching their match today or I would lookup a link for you. Don’t want the score to pop up

I know they proposed the idea and did mocks, but I dont think they've gotten any approvals. That stadium won't be built til like 2070.

Which, coincidentally, will still be before the Stamford bridge rebuild.

They said they would not use public funding and United already owns the land. Definitely still in the beginning stages of development but sounds like a go. How long is anyone’s guess. When they released the plan, they had no clue of timetable

@Captain Dave Poulin well that’s depressing…

It really is. It's depressing in general, but especially considering the fact that we dropped two CL finals to them under him, one of which involved an unpunished WWE flying arm drop from Sergio C***ting Ramos that took Salah out of the match early in the first half. He'll finally get his chance to manage Bellingham, and he'll reunite with Trent. It sucks.

I hate using this phrase but was listening to a pod the other day that said they'd be a long way off. All they did was develop models and drawings. More of a PR stunt than anything realistic.

Doesn't mean they dont want to build one, just that they haven't really done anything to actually move the needle (much like us)

No worries….I got that feeling too. Todays comeback got me optimistic 😎

I am ready to chirp my buddy (Leicester fan) about the Foxes being in the same division as Wrexham, but Wrexham appear to be choking their chances for promotion away.

They may still get through via playoff, but they no longer look like they'll get an automatic promotion.

They have only themselves to blame if they dont. Wycombe has a significantly harder run in and will likely drop some points.
