I could see Zibanejad as a defenseman if he had trained for it.

He has a good body for it and he would have to handle the puck under pressure a lot less which is one of his big issues imo.

He would be a very K'Andre-esque defenseman with the lack of physicality and proneness to whiffing on simple passes. I think he could play 20 minutes a night though.

didn't watch the game... how serious did the injuries look? I guess it doesn't really matter if you snap some shit

Yeah, he would have issues, but K'Andre is an NHL player, and he annoys me a lot less than Zibanejad does at center.

Center is such a matchup position. You have so many 1v1 battles against the other center. That's why the tip top centers in the league hog the Cup.

I for one am getting a big chuckle at the boo boo faces getting in a twist at who is at the very top of this here chart. But I would be more concerned about who is at the bottom. Yikes!
Charts are charts. 1 assist or goal off his butt is all it takes to change a chart. Charts are great for noticing a trend, not for individual games. If you find yourself at the bottom most of the season, that's a trend.

With that said, Trocheck is clearly not playing well in a lot of these games lately. He's falling down a lot more and even his physical game seems off. (I don't mean big hits. I mean the riding players off into board that stat trackers don't ever count unless you're a star player) It seems like his physicality isn't really knocking them off the puck, as if he's a bit weaker.

That's not part of the discussion. We all have to stop with the agenda stuff.

Pro-Zibanead, anti-Zibanejad. Pro-Fox, anti-Fox. We all root for the Rangers.

By all means, make your point about the player and that's that. If you really feel that the other person is not going to listen because they just love/hate that player and that's it, then move on.

Please get Killorn off Carlsson’s line! Dude is cooked!

Oops, wrong forum…

So why this stick up your ass? Why are you posting hit & runs against me questioning my fandom? I have been on these boards long before Zibanejad joined the team and a fan even longer before that.

I am not giving you grief or questioning you lojalty when you stand up for K Miller or even when for a better of a month you were crying over Kakko.
buddy i'm still crying over kakko.

it's honestly 95% in jest

The faceoff struggles are telling. He's the number 1 faceoff man in the league and he's gotten cooked these last 2 games. He's still skating hard but his shots and passes have been off. Four Nations was probably the worst thing for a guy we've been overplaying to cover for Laf and Panarin's defensive deficiencies for a year and a half.

He was nearly at 66% on the powerplay but we took that away from him for the most part. He could have a back or shoulder injury as he does seem a bit weaker on his skates when battling.

It wasnt my vote, but I gained a ton of respect for Schneider there, not that I didnt have some already. Courageous block that imo couldve broken his leg. Stays on the ice and can barely move, goes to the locker room but knows the team is down 2 bodies and he's out for his next shift. If he can start playing with more of the mean streak that Borgen has, he will take that next step. his ice time should take a big uptick if Miller and Fox miss time. Thats what we've kinda been calling for.
True, I'd love to see KAM and Schneider as 1st pair. Something def wrong with Fox though. He doesn't look anything like last year. Smart player, but defensively he doesn't even compare to the likes of Slavin and many others, even that Makar dude that I respect but cannot stand due to his arrogant face, that I wanna punch.
I still believe that KAM is the "key" player here on our back end. If he can ever be a little more physical (much better lately, imo) then, we will have a much better back end. He's so talented, and it's just starting to show. Look at that nice setup vs Pitt, when he sold passing to the right and gave it to Cuylle for the nice shot/goal.

K’Andre has the potential to be our sergachev. I think you give him the extension and he’s still so young the deal won’t age poorly. Defenseman take time and for all his warts, he’s played solid top 4 minutes since the first game of his career.

Do we? I see people here who actively root against the Rangers.

I assume that if Miller is OK for Friday and Fox isn't, we will see Vaak and Zac on the 3rd pair. Wonder if either can play the right side.

No, you're entitled to want to tank.

We discourage actively rooting against the team in the GDT because that's not what the GDT is for.

Yeah, tank talk is fine but it should not be in the GDT, it comes across as trolling, when others are rooting for them to win.

We had applied this rule to the Anaheim forum over the last few years since they were a lottery team. Made a separate thread just to root for losses to improve lottery odds. Tried to make both sides of the fandom happy. I don't think the Rangers are there, so would just ask to use the Roster thread to discuss how they should improve.

I personally think they need to enter a rebuild but I'm not going to root for them to lose.

you're right. it's for crucifying Rangers players who make mistakes, and ignoring strong play.

this place is so boring when they win..

People still have fun watching the games. You know, of course they do. That's why you watch.

I can understand why it would be a bit annoying if you want a higher pick, and they got 2 points for that crap last night, but at the end of the day, they're not gonna lose on purpose.

That game was hilarious and I had fun with it. What can you do?

I think the only time I actually rooted for my team to lose was that last Ducks game a couple of years ago where they would be guaranteed a Top 3 pick. They lost out on Bedard, but I have high hopes for Carlsson becoming the next Barkov or close to it.

I woke up today fearing a Ryan Lindgren extension. Crisis avoided so far.
LOL....I'm not advocating for it unless it is at a half of his current deal and role ....and if that did transpire I would not be shocked . They have not shown any indication of moving him or lessening his role to make him less prone to errors to up his value .....so...we shall see .
