The Rangers at least have the cushion of a certain amount of depth, but nothing would be better than not having to rely on that. Get better, Derick. Godspeed.

Happy to hear Brassard is ok, we need him real bad out there. He is the critical backbone of that line

It was def. a late hit. I've noticed there is a certain contingent of people who really go out of their way to try and show how objective they are by putting other posters down who feel the officials bare some responsibility, and dismissing them as so called "conspiracy theorists"! It really tedious.

Lol no it wasn't. It was 110% clean. Gorgeous open ice hit. Textbook. A throw back hit, really. Shame Brass was injured, but that was a hell of a hit.

Glad he's doing alright. We will need to be firing on all cylinders to keep this playoff performance going.

As far as the "nothing serious" comment by Brass, didn't McD say the same thing and it took him a month to get back to his top level of play. Just saying don't read into it either way. Obviously if it was serious no way he speaks to the media but there are several degrees of "not serious".

No name takes a run at a hot player. Whats new... It wasnt the dirtiest it but it was definitely late and opportunistic. Brassard should have expected it though.

saw him being interviewed during the postgame show on MSG and he seemed upbeat and said it wasn't anything serious. I would be shocked if he didn't play Monday and beyond shocked if he didn't play for game 3 considering its not until thursday. Brass is important cause I feel his skill and stick handling ability can come up huge against Montreal.

Actually mcd said it was the most pain he ever felt in his shoulder and he was relieved it wasn't serious.

I won't believe it til I see him on the ice again playing as fearlessly as he has been.

Yeah. I agree. He would have come back were it really nothing. Certainly hope its true, but i'd wait to see before feeling relieved.

i didnt have a problem with the hit...just like i didnt have a problem with kreider hitting price...its hockey...theres contact...especially when youre skating the way these guys skate.

i am curious though if its "nothing serious" why wasnt he back in there, esp in a relatively close game till the final 2 mins of the 2nd.

Precaution?

Because when they say "nothing serious", you can assume it could mean anything from "nothing serious" to "really serious."

Him not coming back is the best evidence that it was somewhat serious. Hopefully a couple of days of rest will help. If he has to miss Game 2, I REALLY hope he's back for Game 3.

LGR!

This. Actions speak louder than words. Highly doubt they're keeping guys out as a precaution at this point.

That said, it could've just been a dead shoulder. Really tough to play through because you lose all your strength but it does get better after a few days. Good thing is we have two days off after game 2.

But the biggest concern in my books how he plays when he comes back. It may not be serious, but will it affect his play? It doesn't need to be serious to throw a guy off his game.

I just hope he's good to go.
