Odd that most chatter doesn't involve them in any way. Bruins bombed out (lol) then did very nicely loading up on picks. They have an incredible amount of cap space, a new coach, and Sweeney now has some contract security. They also have an abundance of 2/3/4th line centres and a very solid D (when healthy). This is a team not known for its patience. So what's the strategy?

Not much. The management doesn't seem to think there's anything wrong, if that end-of-year presser is any indication.

I love seeing Zacha thrown out in trade discussions as a "big body," as if that has ever factored in to his play in the NHL. Perhaps if he never had those concussions in Sarnia, he could have been an actual power forward instead of a guy who will coast and get 50 points a year.

Everything is in play to improve the club next season

They are going to be a lottery team as soon as this season.

Got an okay back end and goalie but no pipeline and really only Pasta up front.

Going to be along season in Boston.
I think that Swayman will rebound to a better form, although not to his absolute best like in previous years. Health willing, McAvoy and Hampus Lindholm will do a decent job holding things down. Pasta will get 100+ points on sheer force of will.

Other than that there's pretty much nothing. The Elias Lindholm contract, for my money, was the worst free agent deal of the past offseason. Between that and... I forgot the other guy's contract that was on defense, that's about $15 million in overpay.

If that press conference was just bluster, then they'll need to understand that there will be a lot of work to be done before they can consider themselves contenders again.

I don’t think a rebuild guarantees you a talent of Pastrnak or McAvoy. I think they shuffle the deck and give it one more go before dismantling if things go poorly. They had injury issues and just a disaster season this year. I’d be surprised if there isn’t improvement

Wait and sign Eichel next summer plan?

Everything. All of it.

I bet the Bruins are one of the most active teams this summer. Trades, signings, and offer sheets oh my.
