Trying really hard to let just let it go, but friggin hell if Heatley had just stuck with it I wonder where this team could've gone with that pizza line still intact.
That was the peak, his knee was shot and his skating was suffering pretty badly in our cup final series. Didn't take too long to completely ruin his career. Video was funny, I think he's as unsure as we are about this lol

Definitely a lot easier to forgive and forget knowing how it turned out.

Glad to see the team making up with him either way. Life's too short for people to be holding a grudge against a hockey player they never met for something that didn't actually affect them.

The Sens need their legends. We have so few.

His return game was wild. I remember planning a huge, "Boo Heatley" group and we had 20 people head to the game. Obviously the city was out for blood. I still have the sweater I made with Whany Cheatley on the back. I can laugh about the rage I had, now.

Putting him out alone would not be nearly the same reception, they are very smart to staple him to Spezza and Alfie.

Also, why is he staring into the sun when taking the video? He could have looked anywhere, but he choose to burn his eyeballs and squint the entire time. He never struck me as being that smart, TBH.
Went to that game too, I think I remember someone throwing a jersey at him over the glass while he was either on the bench or in the box. We also lost pretty handily.

Dany Heatley is not a legend, could of been, but he quits on everything.

Honestly, I cannot remember the reason why he left and what happened. Did he not steal someone's girl for a night and had to leave? It wasn't a player's girl, but someone in the underworld.

That was thr rumour and there was a fair amount of smoke regarding it. If we don't know by now, we will never know for sure.

Officially the reason was he didn't like the coach.

Update time: Turns out Wednesday morning was pretty similar to Monday, coffee happened, I thought about a whipped cream topping but passed.

Seems people don’t remember/care as much that Spezza asked for a trade as well. Iirc , there were some fans at the time were willing to drive him to the airport.
