Thomas Hickey is in town, expect some kinda magic maybe. If I’m correct Guy Boucher was the assistant coach in charge of the PP during that WJC and Hickey was the first player in Team Canada history to go to a 1 Dman PP with 4 forwards on the ice and he stayed on for the entire 2 minutes.

Anyways, Hickey, Guy Boucher, some magic and some mojo - could be a good night.

Hockey Gods love Thomas Hickey in the Ottawa arena. Hockey Gods going to show up for the Sens tonight

I don't think it even needs to be questioned. What else are they gonna do, run it back? I don't think that's a reasonable option.

Whether it's Brady and/or others, some form of major change is almost guaranteed to happen by the end of this coming summer imo.
I expect him to be traded should we miss the playoffs but moreso at the draft than now. Or even at the deadline if they can make cap financials work.

But I know people were discussing trying to salvage this season which would be quicker than I personally expect but who knows. I agree it’s not so much a question of if but when, assuming we keep losing.

Ya I agree. It's an offseason move. I don't think there's much point trying to salvage the season with a big trade, but I'm also not opposed if the deal makes sense in the long term too.

Incredibly disheartening that we really have no help, other than Yak in 2ish seasons, and Ostapchuk in a bottom 6 role, in the pipeline.

And then we are giving up a pick

There isn't a single prospect to get excited about other than those guys
The other part is given the current situation, trade proposals are very popular these days. But, unfortunately, to get something of value, you need to give something of value. So, would these fixes end up making the team better, or would the net gain be closer to neutral? I guess we hope that the results would really change things for the better. Sounds good I suppose, and anything is possible, but a change for the better isn’t automatic or guaranteed.

The other path would be a complete rebuild, and I’d wonder how patient folks would be having to endure another 5 - 7 year rebuild.
