I think he will keep signing as long as a team wants him. But watching perry now.... I don't know why somebody would. He's had a big drop from even a couple years ago.

We all know the real reason for leaving Chicago is that his SCF powers and Hall’s 1st overall pick powers couldn’t exist in the same space. Obviously Perry’s won out. Someone’s going to want that

He made a great pass to McDavid in OT. Otherwise, he had a rough game. I think Jeff Skinner should be brought in and put on a line with McDavid. Perry can go to the second or third line.

He takes too many penalties.

He actually had the best Corsi for last night, if you think that stat is worth much. 35 shots for vs 16 against when he is on the ice. 27 for and 16 against 5-on-5, that's not just power play.

I tend to agree he wasn't awesome, but I think that's because the 2 penalties make it easy to overlook that the ice was tilted when he was on the ice.

Fun fact, before this series 40 year old Corey Perry has outscored every single playoffs John Tavares has ever had (7 in 16 vs 6 in 11, 5 in 13)

Perry still got those silky hands in tight areas, but obviously he got other pretty significant limitations at this point. It needs to be a pretty specialized fit for him to bring value at this point, but Edmonton is one of those places.

I dont know what is fueling perry right now. Is he basically trying to break his finals losing streak and then say he's had enough?

Or is he going to be a chelios type that will keep playing until nobody offers a contract anymore regardless of whether he wins another cup this year.

Im guessing its the former rather than latter but its speculation on my part.

Still scoring now and showing players what it takes to win. Draisaitl specifically has spoken on this. Bring Perry back for 1 more year.

It's hilarious when threads like this get necro'd back to life.

Superstitions are one of the dumbest thing humanity has invented. There is no cosmic force out there ensuring that Corey Perry doesn't win a cup. Giving into superstition means you don't have the brain capacity to understand how the world works so you fill in the gaps with bullshit so it can make sense for your small lizard brains.

As soon as sports fan can accept that drinking green paint and eating a rat won't win your team a fancy trophy the better society will be.

Its absolutely insanity to me.

or alternatively if Edmonton does manage to win the Cup this year it'll be because Corey Perry's curse and Jeff Skinner's curse cancelled each other out :naughty:
