Nashville and Minnesota, two teams headed in opposite directions and it's showing right now. Down by two goals, and now two bad fight losses for Minny.
lol they gave Cooke a fighting ?

I have very little to add to this thread other than to say that threads that start with "so..." are quite annoying
Go Preds?!?!?!?!
There is plenty to criticized Trotz for (or any coach that's been around forever), but Forsberg isn't a valid one, IMO. He had a 19-year old FF9 who was very clearly physically overmatched against NHL-caliber talent.
Pekka Rinne. Do I have to say more? Of course the whole team has played really well ala Forsberg, but the main key is Rinne. He is just something else...

It's not like this was 2-3 months, we're talking about a year, which is a significant amount of time when you're talking about the growth and strength development of a 19/20-year old. He just didn't look physically ready for the NHL game at the beginning of last season, spent a year working on his game in the AHL, and came into this season a stronger and physically more mature player. Surely that's not all that outlandish? He didn't magically go from "physically overmatched against NHL-caliber talent" to great NHL player over a few months as you describe. Some criticism against Trotz for this is correct, although it is pretty moot now anyway.

Cooke speared Weber, and Weber laid an epic beatdown on him. Then Prosser decide he'd pick on Mike Fisher, and Fisher absolutely demolished him - with Prosser never getting a punch in.
Didn't he say he was unimpressed with Forsberg, and was highly critical of him most of the time. There is no way he would allow him to cherry pick and attempt those pick pocket moves. There is plenty to criticized Trotz for (or any coach that's been around forever), but Forsberg isn't a valid one, IMO. It wouldn't have mattered who the coach was, or how he was used, he simply would not have been as effective a player last season, and who knows how that may have altered the player he has been this season.
You left out that Cooke speared Weber before the cross check.Cooke high sticked (crosscheck) Weber and Weber went for the fight, which Cooke never took part in.
Should have been:
2min Cooke for highsticking
5min Weber for fighting
Fisher actualy picked on Prosser after his defensive game on blue line which Fisher didn't like and Fisher killed him.
I also remember him being highly complimentary of Forsberg's talent level during training camp. I'm not certain on your second part, as the pick pocketing requires defensive tenacity, which Trotz wouldn't frown upon. Relying on that instead of defense? Well, I doubt Lavy would be completely enamoured of that either.Didn't he say he was unimpressed with Forsberg, and was highly critical of him most of the time. And people who have nothing to comment other than to criticize the title of the thread are annoying.
The Predators have now scored 3 or more goals in 12 straight games. Couple that with Rinne and we are dangerous.
Forsberg is slowing down now (pointless in 3 straight) and Wilson is stepping up to pick up the slack.

Cooke clearly was looking to pick at Weber and he underestimated his temper which is short and explosive.
Yeah, he's been trying to do perhaps a bit too much on his own of late. It's only natural that teams are going to approach playing him differently, though, which is something he's just going to have to adjust to. I think that's why we've seen the secondary scoring spark a bit, as well.I have noticed he's starting to float out there and is pressing a lot more with Neal injured. The Predators have scored 3 or more goals in 12 straight games and Neal has been injured and Forsberg has cooled off, yet the scoring has increased.
Honestly I was listening on the radio when it happened but the Predators radio color man went off about it.I completely missed that, only saw the crosscheck to the face.
