Pretty clear to me this was calculated by Drury. The timing on the Trouba trade and Igor extension isnt an accident. Almost like he ripped the band-aid off then gave them a lollipop to soften the blow.

It's going to be hard but I think Kreider is going to get the Mike Gartner treatment this season. Other dominoes may fall before that, but its inevitable imo. Drury can't unring this bell.

Watching Kakko almost getting a shot on goal on that 4 on 2 was inspirational. No wonder Drury is getting so many calls on him. Trade Kreider now!

Everyone keeps yelling at me because I say Kakko is a goner. It's nothing personal it just is very obvious the Rangers and Kakko are not in each other's long term plans. I expect he will be a beast at the 4 Nations when he has leaguewide eyeballs on him.

Trocheck with a huge night. Maybe future C.

Smiths best game this season?

Lindgren didn’t suck.

This was the best Mika has looked all season. They were our best line all night. Consistently aggressive, very straightforward to the net hockey.

Mika played up tempo, and maybe passed a bit too much, but they weren't bad passes so I dont mind too much.

If he can play this way the rest of the season, we're in a much better shape.

Nice to see the top 6 collectively put together a solid performance for the first time in a while. Really strong game from Zibanejad despite that wtf moment on the PK when he should have just shot it.

If Trocheck can get going it's going to make life easier for everyone.

As for the moves, they can't stop with just Trouba. Fox needs a partner. Lindgren has never been and continues to not be it. That should be next.

Really depends on Kreider. I still don't know how serious the GM is about moving him though several people seem to think that his name is legitimately out there.

If he starts to give a f***, I can't imagine that they move him. Hell he's probably one of the 2 veterans I'd rather keep if they decide to ship a bunch of people out at forward.

Yeah, I think he’ll be the next to go as well. Shame, he does some things quite well. He just has a hard time turning his strengths to points.

Yeah I mean this is it for Kreider he has to know it. He has now outlived Trouba, who was acquired after Kreider had multiple ECFs and a Cup run under his belt with the team. He has value to everyone in the league if the Rangers want to move him now. They are within their rights too imo as much as I love the guy. Would Boston take him back in a deal for Lindholm or Charlie (shout out Long Beach)? He's 34 and slowing down 5v5.

Why did he never take the C? He should write a book one day and tell the real story of the Kreider era.

I think that will end up being the move that looks worse than buch for blais +2nd.

The events of today should tell you that trade had no bearing whatsoever on the Rangers Cup chances post-Buch. It's time to let it go.

It's the best smith looked this year too. By far.

Penguins D and goaltending is horrendous and most of their forwards are not much better. I know as Ranger fans it's our duty to hate Sid but as a hockey fan I think it's a shame he has to finish out his career with such a horrible mess of a team. We've got 3 more games against weak teams which I'm sure we'll win but mostly I want to see how we'll do against the better teams. As far as Trouba goes it's bittersweet for me. Sure he was overpaid in his contract and amongst all that has happened he had to go but we are going to miss him in the playoffs more than some realize. We're in danger of getting pushed around unless we can solve that with some new additions. We need some size and toughness on D without paying a fortune for it. Again, Panarin looks amazing against D/teams that give him a ton of space but that's not going to do anything for us come playoff time. I don't think we're done of our trades . I'm guessing Kreider might be next. I believe we're a talented hockey team with a chemistry problem and I'm not sure these moves will fix that but we can always hope. I'll take the win . Let's keep it going.

My expert opinion is this was a fine win but the defense still blows ass and they need to replace Lindgren and Mancini at a minimum

I think there are more trades coming. The locker room still seems fragile. I think they wouldve gotten walloped tonight if Igor didnt sign the contract pregame.
