I think it’s evident at this point his deployment, decision making or lack there of, and game plan are not good. Kings shouldn’t be this bad and they should have some identity which they don’t.

I want to see where our posters line up.

Todd has 1 more year on his contract. Don't think Blake pays Todd 5M to sit around & asks the boss to pay for a new coach.

The roster is flawed with Lizotte & Kupari as 2 of the centers & the composition of the defense. Todd has made questionable decisions that have cost the team points in the standings. He still has the team clinging to a playoff spot. Just a whole lot of meh.

It seems that Todd wanted the team to realize 7:6 games weren't going to work in the long run & have the team decide to play defense. The problem there is the defense isn't good enough & the team bleeds chances against.

There are worse coaches out there, but why pay this guy 5M for this product?

(C Not going to panic.)

Folks the Kings are not a Stanley Cup contender and they weren't expected to be for at lease two more seasons and earliest is next season. If I remember right, Todd got the word from Blake to give him like 5 years and build right through the draft and develop. Blake will find the right pieces to fill the needs, give him some time. People get upset cause the team played to many vets and not enough kids, then complain the kids are not ready. It's growing pains relax it will work itself out. Todd in my opinion isnt a Stanley Cup contender coach, he is a bridge coach. When the team is ready to seriously contend, i hope the team hires a coach that can get them over the hump. Until that time comes, i am going to enjoy watching the Kings propects play and excited for the future.

You should have someone else post this for you since most people ignore you. I'm assuming it won't get much traction.

Oh, another thing, don't forget to give TM all the credit for the W's as you blame him for all the L's.

Blake doesn't have the ability to burn through all the coaches that he wants. TMac didn't build the roster. You could criticize him for his utilization, but he would also get credit for the successes that were had last season. In the end, while I would love to have a better option than Todd, I question this group's ability under anyone right now and they've been given enough coaches since Sutter to show us something and they haven't. I think Blake wants to make moves but, let's be honest, no one is anxious to help out the Kings right now. They all want to hand us a boat anchor. This team is between a rock and a hard place until the market opens up. If TMac goes, all heads are gonna roll up top.

Todd's not going anywhere this season. Money $$$. Maybe mid season next year at the best when eating the last portion of the last year of his contract is palatable.

In the meantime, Blake needs to make some changes between now and the TDL. It's not even that big of changes.....which is what makes it worse. I'm giving Blake until the TDL before the pitch forks come. If the TDL comes and goes without some changes (LHD and maybe a physical presence up front), the i'm grabbing the pitch fork.

I’m getting off the Todd train soon. I’m really struggling to understand some of the deployment decisions but I’m still giving him a little leeway due to the poor goaltending and unbalanced D. It does not excuse the overuse of 11 & 8 unfortunately, nor the PP deployment where they seem to do their own (ineffectual) thing. I’m certainly someone that has been prepared to give it time and allowed for context throughout, but right now I’m baffled/frustrated. I’m also very concerned at the lack of intensity from guys and that likely stems for a lack of accountability.

Sol,

So if Todd is to blame this year.....who gets credit for last year?
It’s never all about 1 person, 1 player etc but there is an issue with deployment and intensity. I don’t buy into last year being despite Todd but at the same time the needle hasn’t moved forward.

I can’t vote on these choices in good faith. If Blake pulls the plug on the koala, it will mean the playoffs are out of reach near the end of the season. If anything, I’m more scared of what kind of quick fix Blake would make if he was forced to make a drastic move. I think we’d see a player trade first. Basically, a repeat of the end of Steven’s tenure. But instead of pulling a guy out of the juniors to coach, we’ll see Sturm or even Blake himself. Basically whatever is at hand and affordable that week.

I choose Option D.

- Add some identity players. (Carcillo, Greene, Richards, Regehr, Ivanans, MacDermid, Clifford, Nolan, Fraser.)
Unfortunately not many of these guys exist anymore. Reeves, Foligno, Watson, Jeannot, Kassian, O’Brien, Crouse, Deslauriers. Either too old, too expensive or the team won’t want to give them up.

ha! as of right now, the count is 10 - O

- In Todds favor of course.

I don’t think TM is the problem as much as the roster needs fixing. I would be afraid we would get someone worse, to be honest. He only has one year left anyway. He does some head scratchers for sure, but most NHL coaches do.

Credit is the wrong word.

The division had 4 out of 8 teams rebuilding.
We never belonged into the playoff at all and were outsucked by Vegas at the end of the season

So.....it was everyone else's fault LA made the playoffs??? LA winning games had nothing to do with it?

And you wonder why your credibility is absolutely shot.....

I'm not a big fan of Todd. Dude got reversed swept by us a few years ago and couldn't adjust. However, the problem I have is, if the new coach comes in and is even worst then what Todd did. Can't imagine Blake hiring someone who becomes the next Willie D!!! F*** me!!! And no Barry Trotz is not the answer. He dried up the Islanders offense if I recall, imagine him on this team with even less offensive power. Ouch. Just my two cents.

My point was actually that the Kings were winning because they played mostly against rebuilding teams.
We were absolutely murdered by the Colorado division and would be a bottom feeder being in there.

But yeah.. keep insulting

Really? We were beating Pacific divisiion rebuilding teams? @Raccoon Jesus would surely LOVE to hear this....because he was telling everyone who can listen, that the Kings WERE NOT winning games in their own division.....so....which is it?

So....we were winning against rebuilind teams....going 23-6-3 against the East.....21-21-8 against the West and your contention is that most of the rebuilding teams were in the West??

Does it actually have less offensive power? NYI had/has Barzal, Nelson, Lee.....and.....Parise, Wahlstrom maybe?

LA has Kempe, Fiala, Vilardi, Kopitar, Danault, Arvidsson.....etc.

NYI might have better offensive D in Dobson, but not much better

Tell me who you are replacing Todd with before I agree to replace him.
I have watched a lot of organizations over the years throw coach under the bus only to then have to hire some slapdick who isnt the answer either, because nobody good is available or interested. LA is not for everyone.

98 points does not line up with your theory of being 'outsucked' -- now if they got in on 88 points, I could see your point.
