Georgiev - .871 sv %

This probably actually improved his numbers on the year which is impressive, just not the way you’d want it to be impressive

It is pretty concerning that we needed Georgiev to turn back to his old self to win this game. The team is still playing really rubbish. Blackwood kept us in it big time.
Avs have played few good games in front of Wedgewood, but haven’t played a good game in front of Blackwood yet even if winning a couple. He’s been awesome and deserves better effort from the team. They gotta get their shit together

It’s coincided directly with the return of Nichuskin. In Nuke’s first 8 games back MacK had 3 points, but has started to turn it around from a stats perspective since December. In the 17 games Nuke has played Mitts has put up 7 points (15 in the previous 18 before).

Kiviranta has been our most important depth scorer this year, this team is struggling.

Took long enough, he's been solid for us for awhile now

He'll only get like 26, he's earned 5 minutes off haha
Before the season Kiwi was a 13th forward in my mind. He took the opportunity with injuries and proved that his game could grow. Congrats to him. He's gutsy and never cheats you on work rate plus he has a tad more skill than your typical 4th liner.

Blackwood in 3 games played:

32/34 .941
22/24 .917
37/39 .949

Holy f*** Cale played 30:57 tonight, against the f***ing Sharks, on the fist night of a back to back.

The game didn't even go to OT and he literally played over half the game. That's honestly psychotic.

We need another Defenseman before Bednar kills Cale.
He was exhausted in the pg presser. Fvcking media should'da left him alone but didn't.

If missing the playoffs is what it takes for them to finally move on from Bednar and his stale, no longer working system, then we might have to start rooting for that. Good lord.

Sharks got 4giev'd on this one
I really don’t think you have a root for that.

I’m certainly not going to.

Need to at least get him off the PK, that'll reduce his minutes.. But we need another PK defender for that

I can’t blame Bednar. He’s just like anyone else who likes their job and would do anything to not lose it. With Toews struggling a little( we know he’s not 100%) Girard is on and off, and without Manson, what other choice does Bednar have but to play Makar all those minutes?

Georgiev is probably headed to KHL unless he’ll be ok with accepting a cheap contract to be a back up in the NHL

Manson needs to be ready ASAP because Bednar obviously doesn't trust the bottom 3 guys. Malinski played 15 minutes, but CDH and Middleton didn't play all that much. It's like Bednar was double shifting Makar.

I really want someone in the media to ask Bednar why he's content running his top guys into the ground, especially on a back to back.

Makar still plays insane minutes even with Josh Manson in the lineup.

The Avs need to acquire a 4/5 defensemen who can take Makar's PK minutes away entirely. That would at least give him 2-4 minutes of rest additionally per game.

I don't think Bednar knows any other way to coach. He's going to ride his top guys into the ground come hell or high water and claim they're top tier athletes so they should be able to handle it. He's a mad man.

What a dissappointment of a game even in a win.

The first 2 periods I was yelling at the screen, shoot the god damn puck.

Glad they did change on that regard a bit in the third and Georgiev delivered.

I just hate the Avs only passing the puck with long ranges and getting intercepted all the time. Just straight forward to the next with short passing game please..

Also nice for Kivi to get 2 and Rants delivering on powerplay :thumbu:

Another reason I want Petterson, he's got 18 more PK minutes than Makar. 2:49 sh toi/g vs 2:08 sh toi/g
