So yeah. Shoot your shot here. We do it for games, but I don't think it's been done for drafts. Historically the Sharks haven't had the greatest/many draft picks during the good years. But, here we are...

Rules:
Trade prediction allowed, but if the picks are traded away for the year (meaning we had 14 but traded it for Luongo or something dumb you get credit for that round's points + 1) so: 2 pts for the previous example. But, you have to get the pick(s) and player(s) correct.
Trade predictions do NOT need to include correct retention percentage, if applicable.
If trades occur with any of these draft picks prior to midnight on 6/28 PLEASE UPDATE YOUR PREDICTION. I'll try to edit this post with the numbers as they change prior to draft day. (if they change)
Otherwise, Sharks currently hold picks #: 1, 14, 33, 42, (EDIT: #53 too) 85, and 116, 131, 143, and 194, . Please clearly state who you think will go at these picks specifically.
Finalized predictions are as of midnight 6/28 (that's Thursday night before the 1st round on Friday).
Anytime you change your prediction: find your original post, quote it and make your changes.
This rule is to make it easy for me to tally scores. I can just scroll backwards through the thread this way.

Scoring:
Get points for correct predictions based on the round. If you get 1 (1 pt for 1st round) & 14 (1 pt for 1st round) correct that's two points. If you get 1 (1 pt for the 1st round) and 33 (2 pts for 2nd round) 3 pts total. If somehow you only get 194 correct you get 7 points... but, how badly do you have to misspell Celebrini to not get 1OA correct? Let's not find out.

1st prize: 1 year sponsorship at HFBoards (there's a gift option, I'll just use that)
2nd prize: nope
3rd prize: same as 2nd prize

Oh, here, this will help to have them listed like this so you can just cut and paste the numbers into your post then fill in the names next to them:

1
11
14
33
42
53
85
116
131
143
194

This sounds fun. I’ll make my official prediction closer to the main event but I’m definitely intrigued.

One of my proudest HF moments is that I basically predicted the entire top-10 correctly in 2013. Not sure if the post will still be archived on the site but I posted a mock draft a few days before the event and it was eerily accurate.

Edit: Not too bad… Jux's off-the-beaten-path Mock

Wow, I love it! Already talking smack to the competition.

If you have ideas for scoring, especially around trades I'm open to suggestions. Wanted to keep it relatively simple and fun, but trades are gonna happen... maybe? probably?

Would be weird if there was nothing but straight up picks for the Sharks on draft day.

Jux's OTBP mock <- full version you linked. Gonna make it easy for folks.

I dont know nearly enough about the draft this year but I do know some stuff about Mike Grier so:
1. Macklin Celebrini
14. Cole Eiserman
33. Cole Hutson
42. Kamil Bednarik
85. Will Skahan
116. Jack Pridham
132. Callum Hughes
148. Jake Sondreal
193. Landan Resendes
Haven't followed Hutson, but if he's anything like his brother, we should absolutely take a chance at him.

1: Celebrini
14: Who?
33: where did he come from?
42: what is grier thinking?
85: are we even drafting from the same list of prospects?
116: ok seriously?
131: what gives?
143: fine i give up?
194: is this over yet?
Maybe fair under DW, but Grier's last draft was quite celebrated. People were deliriously happy with the Musty and Cagnoni picks.

F*** it, this is the pure "from my gut" call post combine. I reserve the right to edit this before June 28 to curb my silly instincts, and I'll be in the building to get fired up (alongside many of you).

Is it one attempt?
You have time to change your prediction until midnight 6/28. Whatever your last quote and update was prior to midnight 6/28 will be your picks . Any updates after that time will not count. If you don't make changes before that time then this is your set of picks. If you change it before midnight 6/28 multiple times the last edit prior to midnight 6/28 will be your picks.

Finalized predictions are as of midnight 6/28 (that's Thursday night before the 1st round on Friday).
Anytime you change your prediction: find your original post, quote it and make your changes.
