Post-Game Talk: SNES @ Wings, Thursday night 7pm

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
Okay.. A slow day.. So I need to throw a hand grenade in there

Travis Hamonic is a Metis

Travis Greene is from Castlegar, BC... A community that has a large native/Indigenous population.

Is it possible that coach Greene has native/indigenous connections and is being loyal to a fellow tribe member?

The Kootenay/Ktunaxa tribe may have originated from central Canada. Making them and the Metis of Manitoba from the same origins.

Coach Greene would not be the first person to help out his own.
It's exactly what happened with Paul MacLean, who was born in France, and Stephane DaCosta.

Tkachuk-Cozens-Greig
Zetterlund-Stutzle-Giroux
Perron-Pinto-Batherson
Highmore-Gaudette-Amadio

Were the lines at practice this morning, for those that didn't see the tweet before it was deleted.

Edit: I'll add that I actually really like these lines(Highmore and Gaudette aside), but that with 12 games left it's a little much to switch up the top-9 completely.
I am interested in seeing how these new lines work out.

Zetterlund with Stutzle is something I want to try out and using Zetterliund at LW seems to be a good idea as that is where he was identified as playing with his previous team.

Giving Cozens new line mates (Tkachuk and Greig) also looks interesting; it is not something I expected to happen, particularly with Greig at RW.

Perron-Pinto-Batherson also looks like an interesting combo and worth a look but not just for 1 game; gelling requires more games than that.

Gaudette as 4C is not a good match.

ADDITION: I thought Cozens was establishing good chemistry with Batherson so I would rather see Tkachuk-Cozens-Batherson as a line. Move Greig down.

I think this offseason targeting a 4th line center is priority, at least, as much of a priority as 4th liners can be...

We don't have anyone in the system, maybe we could get Bjugstad? Or bring back Tyler Motte?
I agree we should be looking for a 4C who is cheap and can play a strong defensive 200 foot game, and preferably be big, strong, physical and tough too.

The #1 priority should be a 3RD to improve our defense; we cannot count on Yakemchuk next season..

The #2 should be a 1RW to play with Stutzle, assuming Tkachuk remains #1LW, but other options exist.

I liked him when he was here pre injury
Tyler Motte I presume is who you are referring to. He was OK, showed some good speed. I know that we won't get much for the minimum $700K-$800K NHL salary.

I like Cousins who hustles and hits. Unfortunately he did take some bad penalties on occasion.

MacEwen looked good for a while; he hit on the forecheck but was not the fastest back checker. Limited puck handling and shooting capabilities. Cheap though.

I think the 4th line and backup Goaltender to a lesser extent is where a team needs to cut costs. That allows higher salaries to be paid to the 1st and 2nd line players and the top 6 D. I don't like going cheap on the 3rd pair D.

Staios must have sent a message to Green.

“You want a job next year?? You know what to do.”

Well Sh**

“Hammer?….sorry buddy. Big man orders. You know I love you more than life itself but what can you do. Bring it in pal….ooooh yeah…that’s my boy.”

If the Sens finish with a losing road record it’ll make the final week not fun. They need this game and to get back to .500 on the road

They’ve lost 3 out of 4, need this win tonight.

It’s all hands on deck so they better win and if they don’t, it’s going to be a long 2 weeks

Zetterlund is maybe the most overhyped players we’ve had since Filib Kuba, he’s been carried by better players on bad teams and now we need him to play mistake free hockey for a full game he’s struggling.

Nice package their he’s much further from being impact then I thought

He was acquired for a guy who may peak as a solid 3rd line grinder.

Any overrating came from the fan base. His value is clear

And they also had distant common ancestors .......in Africa.
Much more to that coach Green Story actually.... I hear that ancestor's name might have been Summers Eve. Once when she was just East of Eden she encountered a snake in the grass who convinced her they should eat Adam's apple, the first form of necking on record. They ate from the Tree of Life and could no longer deal with being nude... too bad that! God got really mad and wanted to Cane him, but he just wasn't Abel. And then God said, let their be light... beer. And the world has been in decline ever since! That was the Genesis of the story, as I recall it anyway.

every year it seems like we need to publicly call out/threaten the coach's job for some normal changes

dj smith was a much better coach in march and april, just sucked that he was a horrible coach from october to february
