Just saying....

The Leafs end the season playing buffalo and detroit. On what rational basis could you take the position that they will lose both of those games? Don't give me the "anything can happen" response. Statistically, the division was wrapped up quite some time ago, and the games have played out exactly as the numbers suggested they would. Teams rarely make up ground on top teams with so few games remaining.
This is just wrong. I think you know that though as it's so incredibly obvious

isn't Marner usually dominating in games with an early start? I imagine he hits the 100 mark this game
if marner hits 100 tonight i'd sit him the last two games (if we can)

he's not in contention for ross, hart, lindsay, awards and he will have that 100 point season down too

no reason for him to play and risk getting injured.

I'd also rest one of tavares matthews or nylander one of the last two games.

If we could I'd rest them all + tanev and call up ahlers like steeves, nylander, and stuff to play but i don't think we can do that

Senators clinch WC2. If the winds blow correctly we could lock in battle of Ontario by tonight

I’m nervous about this series. A young bunch who have been aching for the playoffs lead by Brady Thachuk. Now give them the spotlight they have been craving their whole lives by taking part in the Battle of Ontario against a Leafs team that has disappointed in the playoffs for the past 8 years.

Gulp.

We don't have Babcock power tripping and holding Matthews on the bench for Marleau in key moments or Keefe being outcoached and never adjusting behind the bench. It is different

I’m nervous about every 1st rd opponent every year. For good reason.

5pm start is absolutely ridiculous.

I've been trying to think of the reason for it. It can't be another event. This game could go to 8pm. There's zero chance they could repurpose the rink for something else tonight so why? I'm also not aware of some other earth-shattering sports event somewhere else that they would want to avoid competing with. In fact, they're overlapping the ending of the Masters instead. Seriously, why? The NHL has really done us dirty with these 3 - B2Bs in the last 2 weeks of the season.

LOL. I didn't say they "will lose both". I'm pretty sure you know how to read better than that, come on now. And if you don't want to hear truth ...
Statistically, the division was wrapped up quite some time ago
100% wrong.

Once you understand the difference between "rarely" and "never", you'll be closer to understanding the truth. Have a good one.

This is the 8th game the Canes have hosted on a Sunday this season... guess what time the previous 7 started? Yup, 5pm. That is their standard start time on a Sunday. There is no other reason.

The game is also not on ESPN or TNT, NCAA basketball and hockey are over as well. This start time is really a mysterious one.
