Surprised he would draw in over Rifai. Not expecting much from this game tbh, feels like a letdown coming off the high of a big emotional win over a hated rival at home. Canes are usually a tough matchup too.

Expect a loss .. hopeful Canes don't come out flying .. if a slower more skilled type of game then we got a shot .. you never know with teams who can't improve their playoff standing

Good luck to him. Good pro. Safe, Skates well, has some grit and leadership qualities. He’ll be fine to carry a bit of a load these last 3 games to get guys healthy and some rest.

I think it was okay. That game was ours for the taking and I think Berube really wanted it. Smart move to get that extra two points as quick as possible in the last week.

With that win we have pretty much locked up first and I’m sure we’ll see him go easy on the guys for the next few games. Carolina would have been tougher one to get a win in, and the last two games we can just sit guys as needed.

Not sure it's that simple. People talk about how tiring it is to go deep, and how for example Florida will be feeling the effects of the last two playoffs making it harder for them to do it again. Now I don't know how much truth there is to that but if hockey they played a year ago does have an effect, then it's hard to say that playing the crap out of Marner now won't have an effect should we happen to still be playing a month from now, never mind two months.

I like to think they could have played Marner 20 minutes and still gotten to OT. Every game's important but it's not like that game was so crucial that we had to be that desperate to win.

I just looked it up, Marner played 21 something minutes against Florida, and 23 something minutes against TB which went to OT. Now those were IMO the 2 most important games of the year and the ice time was fine. But to go from that to 26+ minutes against Montreal which was not as important as those other two games makes no sense to me whatsoever.

I certainly dont expect a physical game. Avoiding injuries will be the primary objective of the both teams but especially the Canes who are set.
