Post-Game Talk: Smiling Stu Shutouts x 2!

He did great and deserves praise. That doesn’t mean he wasn’t terrible earlier and didn’t deserve criticism…

Not rocket science
There's a difference between criticizing his play and making statements like "The Oilers are finished with Stuart in net" or "this series is over" when Pickard got hurt. Some of you lost faith. Shame!

There is no way previous Oilers teams in the McDrai era would’ve been able to post two straight shutouts. They’ve learned how to win.
I mentioned earlier that halfway into an elimination game, on home ice, Vegas had only 7SOG and two of those were just dump ins. So 5 shots.

That said Vegas had a popgun offense in this series and none of their stars contributed.

Eichel still with only 10 playoff goals his whole career. Once Stone was injured Vegas were done. Hertl, Barbashev, complete jokes.

Don’t want to get ahead of myself, but man if we can take care of win/dal we are looking to be in a good spot to have home ice advantage in the finals.
If the Canes and Panthers both make the ECF the western conference has home ice in the finals. If we make it we will not only have home ice we will have an entire country behind us. The world knows about the Fans in Edmonton it’s legendary: Home ice in Edmonton matters.

Draisaitl was a key part of that goal so maybe people can take a break from shitting on him. I know this hasn't been his strongest series (or playoffs) but he was involved in all 3 OT goals.
I’m hoping we can end up with seven days of recuperation. I have a pretty strong inkling he needs it. The great thing is we have won 8 of the 16 we need without much supernova McDrai. And you know that has to happen sooner or later.

Did Sami Kapanen ever win a Cup? Gene asked Kasperi about his parents and he didn’t seem super sure that his dad was proud, said his mom was for sure watching, also mentioned his dad is his idol.

I hope Kasperi gets his name on it, especially if his dad never did

Edit: nope Sami never won a Cup. Kasperi would have the better career if he gets his name on it
