This is where insisting on grind only bottom 6 lines hurts certain players. If we had a modern top 9 set up then Svech would be the perfect player to move up and down the lineup depending on need and performance. As is it's really complimentary top 6 role or peanuts on the fourth line/PB as he doesn't fit what they are trying to build around Lowry.

This team has talent for three scoring lines especially with Perfetti showing he's ready.

Conner Dubois Svech/Wheeler
Perfetti Scheifele Ehlers
Copp Stastny Svech/Wheeler

When healthy its what I would like to see
Second line is too small…
Connor-PLD-Svech
Copp-Stas-Ehlers
Lowry-scheif-wheeler
Harkins-perfetti-reichel

let perfetti get some experience as a C and a PP specialist

pp1 Connor-PLD-perfetti
Ehlers-morrissey
PP2 harkins-stas-wheeler
Scheif-Pionk

Too small? Scheifele is 6"3 and Ehlers is 6". Really only Cole is small and his size really doesn't hinder him.

So you want to give Cole 4 to 5 minutes a game of experience at center on the fourth line with AHL and fourth line caliber linemates. It's worked so well for every other young player we've put in that position.

If your not too busy Chevy sign this guy to a 7 year deal , he likes winning.

If a leadership shake up happens, this kid should get a letter. I feel he's the missing ingredient, he's like Buff in his infectious play and tenacity... he just has "it".

*Side thought: what a wicked thing it would have been to see Buff and Doobie playing together, throw Ehlers in there and it's like playing against the whirling dervishes.*

I don’t want perfetti to learn defence from Scheif and wheeler I know that

your second line are not big guys - Scheif might be 6’3 but he plays finesse

Totally agree and so does Dubois.

The sad thing about Svech was Maurice took him off the Dubois, Connor line when it was going good to put Wheeler up there instead and then Lowry barely played him at all period when he took over. How can both Maurice and Lowry both be so stupid? Here's hoping Lowry leaves him there this time. Speaking of Svech..... I never get sick of seeing this.

Wonder how pld feels about being 2nd line to a line more zoned out.

Likely thinking arb this summer then one more season and I'm headed for the bright lights. Lou would love to have him on the island. PLD has to know by now Chipper looks after his buddies first.

Woke up to the falling snow this morning and immediately worried about the mental wellbeing of Jets 31. It's OK, buddy-- it's March tomorrow, this painful hockey season will be over in April, the snow should stop falling by May, melted by June and you should be golfing by July.

Feel better now?

Svech gets put back on that line and they are red hot again. If I am Chevy, I am asking the coaches to explain why those 3 haven't been allowed to play together much this season despite all the success and if the answer is not good enough, make decisions accordingly. What a waste to have that line under our noses all season but refuse to use it.
The irony is that that it hasn’t even been under our noses all season, it was out in plain sight when they were dominating the league before Christmas.
Svech’s utilization after Wheeler came back is just a complete mystery.

You lost me at Morrissey is playing selfishly/lazy. I have no idea why you'd say that given how good he's been this year. He was drafted as a high end two way dmen and he's been trying to add the offensive layers back to his game so that he's more complete all around. What you are seeing now is more akin to how he played prior to the NHL. Him playing like this is not at all hurting his defensive game. I like it and it makes him a much more diverse player.

I disagree with your notion that he is only shooting to score. Sometimes he is and others it's clear he's shooting for tips and rebounds. I also disagree with you on his shot. He doesn't have a very heavy shot but he's very good at finding the soft ice and getting his shot away quickly. He also can place both his wrist and slap shot quite well.

Just a quick word on that -- when we were on Jets' practice duty we used to watch JMo stay on and drill his shots, hitting the sweet spot on both wrist and slapper time after time after time. He may not be able to blow a shot through a goalie, but he has a very quick, very accurate shot.

The other kid we used to love watching besides the usual suspects (and Ehlers, who can absolutely wire it) was -- wait for it -- the young Kristian Vesalainen, then just up with the Moose, who could release his shot so quickly and so hard that it seemed almost to bend the bar -- just incredible. Should he ever find his confidence and adapt to NHL timing he might finally come good, IMO.

Missing nearly all the games these days but good on the Jets for a convincing win. Onwards!

Yeah Ves had a good shot. He seemingly is starting to handle the puck with a lot more confidence. We desperately need him to pan out, hopefully he is another kid who can use the rest of theby3ar to really find their game in this league. His defense is pretty good now so he has that base to fall back on.

Svech was clearly sacrificed in an attempt to get Wheeler going. Then he couldn't produce playing with the likes of Vesalainen and Lowry so he was benched.

When wheeler realized he couldn't produce with Adam Lowry he inserted himself with dubois and Connor. Individually Wheeler is>Svech, but the scoring dried up while on that line and that was when we went into a huge scoring slump. Should have went back to what worked
I like your lines, but with Lurch channeling his inner net-front stuff, don’t you think he deserves a couple of craft wingers? Who would you like to see with him, ideally?
No.

And ideally I have no idea. Who is going to put up 30-40 pts playing 3rd line with Lowry? Scheifele and Wheeler with him earlier and they scored zero.

It actually sucks that there’s now finally a Jets game every other day for the next 2 months and it’s all basically meaningless. Kind of just want to fast forward to the off-season so hopefully we can make some meaningful changes here.
I go back and forth about watching. I love hockey but it’s so hard to watch a team not give its all. Watching the Dubois line is always fun, watching the schiefele line just turns me off.

Agree, but I might it rephrase it slightly: "watching scheifele on that or any line just turns me off"
