TBH, I can't disagree. KD has not been very impressive but the verdict is still out to some degree - at least he is sticking to the rebuild plan.

As you say, the give-and-go is a play NO PRO hockey player needs to be taught. Luke isn't on the ice making the dumb decisions. Luke doesn't tell the players not to execute. It is too dam easy to blame the coach for having a shitty team to work with. We've seen the current team work hard at times and play competitive hockey it just happens too infrequently of late. Of course it doesn't help when they lose 70 percent of the draws and ops team is a SC contender.

Something’s gone very wrong if 5 years after this year the Hawks can’t get into the playoffs. I would say 3 years after this year the Hawks should be solidly in the mix for the playoffs.

I mean, in the mix for the playoffs doesn't make you a good team, imo. A better team, yes, but not a good team. I'm not saying we are going to be bottom 5 -10 bad for 5 more years, but 4 or 5 years from now, they will probably be a fringe playoff team at best, which maybe isn't a bad team per se, but it's not a good team either.

But shouldn't the vaunted analytics staff ...it isa big investment for the Hawks...and a large staff of Originally 12 persons,maybe diwn 1or2 by now,have advised KD on actual player acquisitions that dominate analytics and yet also produce offense while styling goals against?

It would seem the vets we brought in just cannot produce enough nor dominate thecanayltics..

Why do we have a highly paid dept.of analytics and strategy if they are producing garbage bottom feeder resukts?
