Coach was reasonable in his take. Watching live.. I was pretty relaxed the whole game. Only the 5 minutes at the end had me worried and the first few minutes before we scored. Felt we controlled that one and were quite systematic.

You obviously do if you are taking the comments of 17,18,19 year olds as some matter of fact. Rather than just an emotional response in sports that happens at every level. NHL teams get swept in the playoffs all the time and their players will say they were unlucky and could have easily won.

Oh well, game is over. Looks like Czechs could get a favourable matchup potentially based on last day of games.

Strbak either plays like he did in the opening game of last year WJC against the Czechs where he was outstanding or he is basically unplayable and a legitimate problem for his own team. If he stays on PP1 going into the QF…

I dont get why are all czechs so pissed about this at all, at most laugh at it but why be offensive? There is nothing bad intended from the players, they probably are just clueless, or the media skewed their interviews a bit so they could sound even dumber, which by the way is something the (czech) media like to do.

I would bash our players all the same if they said after a game where they would be clearly the worse team, that they were better and just unlucky.

I just dont like when people lacks self-reflection, or miss a bit of a humility.

As an adult, I certainly understand your viewpoint and no mature person has to like it.

On the other hand, they're kids. The last thing I really expect from them is level-headedness or perspective. In fact, it's one of the reasons that make the WJCs so good - these kids believe they can do anything, the arrogance of youth.

Thats true, at the same time certain maturity should be part of their skillset at this age, they need to understand they are public personel already and U20 WJC is followed very much in both Czechia and Slovakia.

Right now they are completely torn apart not only by Czech but also by Slovak fans for their "namachrovaný kecy" after the game with Czechs. Could have been avoided if they just think before they speak after the game.

But yeah I get what you mean, they were pissed, emotions were flowing etc. etc. at that age you are more direct and radical with your opinions. It could at the very least be a nice teachable moment for those kids.
