Looking good this year. Real good.

We beat the Swiss 3 - 0 and 5 - 3 in the pre tourney games in Humenne (first time ever the national team played there). Martin Fasko Rudas is really asking for that nomination.

KHL players are a no go, correct decision was made.

From the NHL players, we could be looking at the best turnout in years. Obviously the basically home crowd in Czechia helps.

Other than Cernak, noone is making the playoffs. Ruzicka is out for obvious reasons but the rest of the NHL Slovak gang could very well make it. Would love to see Nemec and Slafkovsky reunited. Also want to see Pospisil bang some heads, though he might need to take it down a notch for the international referees.

Let's not talk from a political point of view. Wouldn't Kristof, Yurcho, Jaros and Tchaikovsky have strengthened the Slovak national team?

Ain't nuthin political. You're the one who mentioned politics.

Having the best possible team is about having the best possible dressing room, team spirit, public support etc. This ain't fantasy hockey. It's simply not worth the distraction.

Update - Milos Kelemen has excused himself, so that leaves 8 NHLers who could very well make the team.

I would like something like this:

Hlavaj
Hrenak
Tomek
/Skorvanek (all of them have approx. similar quality)

Nemec-Fehervary
Marincin-Ceresnak
Ivan-Grman

Dano-Hudacek-Slafkovsky
Cehlarik-Hrivik-Lantosi
Regenda-Pospisil-Okuliar
Panik-Cacho-Fasko Rudas

Roman, Takac
Cehlarik and Hrivik are a lock for the first line though, right? Their chemistry on the NT is unreal.

Also Slaf is the real deal on Montreal's PP, hope he brings that over.

Maybe, maybe not. Jurco istnt and wasnt a difference player. So was not Kristof. Even Liska.
Jaros and Cajkovsky could have impact, but with D from NHL (Fehervary, Nemec) and some Czech Defense it is not so much difference.

Goalies are questionable.

Pospisil - Slafkovsky is definitely first line material, not sure who to put on C though. Maybe Hrivik.

Is there any reason Adam Liska is no longer in the mix? Has his development stagnated or are there simply better players available?

Team will still struggle to score goals. Shame with the Ruzicka situation even if there was slim chance he’d play. Tatar I wonder if he would play even without a contract

They did it. The crazy SOBs did it. Washington actually made the playoofs, so Fehervary is out.

Slafkovsky 20g 30a for his second season looking like the real deal. Especially considering he only really got going in the second half of the season.

Washington and Tampa could lose first round and both dmen could be here, what a boost that would be. Any comments from Cernak on it? Regenda, Demek will be available. Chromiak maybe. Knazko maybe. Sykora maybe.
