Don't you mean Connor, Little and Ehlers for a 2nd line ?? That be exciting to have Ehlers and Connor on one line.
I posted that before i knew Ehlers was back practicing with a regular jersey .

No Nic Petan back in the line rushes in practice. If he is not going to be in the lineup after that game

I'd like to see Maurice be a little more creative and use Nic Petan -- especially with the slump we're in. The guy is a great passer, and also has a good shot. We need to get some offense going, and I think Petan can give us that.

I still think Petan is an underrated player, and the Jet's will regret losing him.

It also could be that Petan is being packaged as part of deal for Stone tho ?

Think of any logical combination you’d like, and Maurice will likely pick the worst option which no one has ever contemplated.

I know it’s insane to think this on any reasonable level, but it’s almost as if he puts insane combos together that will never work so when they fail, he can justify keeping his pets together.

It does seem that way sometimes. Then when he's "explaining" his decision in a presser, he'll contradict something he said a week earlier.

They must have booked their flights and game tickets before they knew no one worth watching would be playing tonight.

Simmons is the guy who does contracts for the Jets. Maybe there's more than hockey going on.

I believe what was "predicted" was that the 5v5 numbers were bad and that we were making hay on the back of special teams and that it was probably an unsustainable situation.

So that a team with a great special teams would struggle of their special teams went to shit?

Where's the fancy part?

Yes, because that's what we argued: Paul Postma was a star... not "he's better than some guys getting ice time and some he's not better than but his value per dollar is not far off."

I'm excited for my "Nic Petan did well in the time he was given, and was probably in Jets 10-12th best forwards" being twisted to "Petan was a super star" in two years.

I thought your flyby was gauche, so I responded in kind. You've rightly called my exageration out--it was petty and I apologise--but my point, if there was one, was that we shouldn't be here to keep score.

Other than for the lazy quitters with bad special teams.

^^ I am not sure why you are harping on the Special Teams. 5 on 5 goals were 6-0 in the Avs favor last night. STs were 1-1. Even if you consider that one goal that the Avs scored right as their PP expired as a "PP goal" it was still a 5-0 game at 5 on 5.

I'm not really sure who I'd sit -- but it likely would be Appleton/ Lemieux. They need to see what Petan can do with decent players. I don't think the Jets like his game though.

I'm not defending the Jets play but the first period was even and then 3 penalties in 4 minutes did them in. Don't get me wrong the Jets did not deserve to win because they quit in the 3rd period. The Avs did get some breaks ... Avs throw a blind pass it goes right to an open man and in the net. Jets throw a blind pass it goes right to an Avs player. Even the scrambles in front of the net the puck just could not get on a Jet stick. Remember the goal the Jets scored the ref wave it off ... gave Avs a quick whistle. They did that in the Ottawa game too which is fine but why put away the whistle when there's a scramble in the Jets net. Helley was run into twice and no calls and I did not see the ref warn the Avs.
I believe this blow out will turn the season around for the Jets ... it showed the Jets you can't cheat you have to play defense first ... plus Elhers and Buff coming back soon should help.

Lemieux has earned his place, Appleton will be switched out if it comes to that but I don’t think Petan is a silver bullet. Furthermore, I think we’ve seen what Petan can do by this point. He’ll go the way of the Dano.
