Post-Game Talk: Skinner just had his Grant Fuhr moment

Skinner, that was a masterpiece in playoff goaltending. Hell of a f***ing game by him. So nice to have the goalie steal a 1-0 shutout in what is a hostile environment when the rest of the team was flatter than roadkill.

Now come home and blow them out to seal it.

Give credit where due, Skinner certainly won this for the team. This team isn't built to sit back like that, so I hate the style of this game for this iteration of the lineup but it's a relief to see they can win a nail biter. Really don't want to see a sub-15 shot total again.

Huge relief, my hands were sweaty as hell watching the last 10 minutes. Kill these dirty pricks at home, end it and give your guys some rest.

Also I haven’t checked the advanced numbers yet but it’s quite possible the Oilers had more HDSC than the Kings despite being outshot by 20.

Pretty close to the same I think. Kings player better than us this game for sure, but the team was playing really good defense honestly.

Welp Skinner that was really impressive.

He really was. Remember though when I said game 4 would be all business and nothing like game 3?

This was a coaching masterpiece of defending, really by both clubs.

Pretty entertaining for a 1-0 game. Both teams had chances and goaltending. Skinner was great.

They can beat you 7-1 and they can beat you 1-0. This had to be a completely demoralizing loss for the Kings.

And the refs gave the Kings the game they wanted by putting away the whistles. We see this every series around Game 4/5 when the Oilers PP is pretty much an automatic goal.

That was some really solid team defense in the 3rd. Didn't think we could win a 1-0 playoff game with defense, but McD and Drai were committed to it.

With Knob we can. Past years, no chance. Tonight showed that this year is different.

Skinner needed to prove he could put back to back good games together in the playoffs. He hadn’t done it before. Tonight he finally did and he was outstanding.

Brilliant performance by Skinner in net. The best Oiler. Second best Oiler was Drai, who got the assist on the game winner, and was a two-way beast all game.

Let's finish them off at home.

Honorable mention to Desharnais, sketcky moments with the puck but he was eating up pucks all night and was aces in the final few minutes just by being big and positionally sound.

Awesome game for Skinner. This has to be huge for him, 1 GA in his last 2 playoff games! The boys did what it took to win and played smart, low event hockey. This game has to sting for the Kings, they will probably be pretty demoralized from this one. Now let's finish this in Game 5 and not give them a chance to get up off the canvas again.
