Post-Game Talk: Skinner Does Dallas

The hypothetical is that “typically players don’t get injured on that type of slash”, which could be true, but in this case he did, which makes it a very dumb thing to have done
Since you're calling it a dumb thing to do, based on the fact Hinsz got injured, I'll also use hindsight and say it was a smart play, since the penalty didn't hurt us and we won the game. :D

I honestly didn't think he'd be THIS good. I am so very pleasantly surprised. Glad he's finally getting a chance to play regular minutes in important games and moments. He has an unbelievable compete level and a motor that doesn't stop.

I remember liking him in L.A when he played against us in 2022. Actually had 4 points in 4 games.

Hintz has drawn 8 penalties so far these playoffs, the most in the entire league, it's his calling card. He's made of glass, gotta be careful with guys like that, for some reason the refs seem to love him.
Then they can send him a bunch of get well cards now while he's laid up at home.:D

Again though, you can make them pay without making a slash that is borderline enough for them to review, how many slashes get reviewed? Not many, it was clearly borderline otherwise it wouldn't have been reviewed.. The refs could have easily called the major then the worst PK in the playoffs is having to kill a major and without one of their best Dmen in a game they were completely in control of. Plenty of Dmen make the forwards pay without committing obvious penalties as if he's 90s Derian Hatcher. I think we're just going to agree to disagree on that one. I love physical Nurse, not stupid Nurse and I feel he was the latter on this one.
I've seen some pretty vicious crosschecks in front of the net, some initiated and some retaliation. Pretty sure there is a level of pain and injury associated with those (like sore or cracked ribs, etc,) and most guys just skate it off and it's the badge of honour playing in a beautiful, but sometimes vicious game of attrition.

Stupid Nurse would have hit him up high, at or near the head, and got a major and suspension. Nurse last night took a typical nasty slash way down at the guys lower body and somehow connected in the right place for an injury. I don't mind this Nurse. He may have got a minor penalty, but he sent a message. Florida are experts at this, and they are cup winners with a loose cannon like Tkachuk, and a crazed menace like Bennett. Just getting warmed up for them.

I think what set him off was the last 3 shifts he got reverse-hit by Draisaitl. So when Leon turned to do it to him a fourth time he just tackled him. It's frustration for sure.
That twisting tackle on Drai looked incredibly dangerous. Drai was fortunate he did not get injured, but Harley should still have got 5 minutes and a suspension for it. ;)

No he did not he snapped his head back as soon as he felt the stick hit his body was nowhere near his face from other angles shown and McCauley was looking right at them
You have to be careful with your stick, but with your skate you can fling it around.

Not really well thought out.

Yea he’s trying hard. Way too hard.

I like him, in fact I really like him.

He needs to sit for a game and hyperventilate for a bit.

Then when he’s got the bit between his teeth, release the kraken.
I think you're not used to depth defenseman who are good and can move the puck. He's been excellent.

holy shit lmao

compared to leafs:

Didn’t know if I should post this in the Injury thread but Leo, Connor and Bouch’s playoff X-Rays just came across my desk
