Post-Game Talk: Skinner Does Dallas

Oettinger's save percentage in games 1 and 2: .889 and .880. He was only below .900 three times before this round and never twice in a row.

This team gets to goaltenders.

I’ve never “got it” with Oettinger. He’s good, but he’s not anywhere close to the deity the media pumps him up to be.

One thing I’ve noticed is he plays really low, Jonathan Quickish. However, there is a lot of room over both shoulders. We’ve got him there a few times and have come very close to a few more that just missed or caught a small piece of him. He’s very gettable.

Good bounce back games from Kulak and Stetcher. They both know it'll be one of them who goes out when Ekholm is ready. Hopefully Ek is ready for game 3. Stetcher likely the guy coming out. Smaller chance, we go 11-7.

Anybody can feel free to send this video to DeBoer, Benn, star fans, or anybody else yapping about the Nurse slash on Hintz being comparable to McDavid.
Mind them, this video is 6 years old and Connor still goes through a shit ton since then to now without infractions being called. Stfu DeBoer.

That Nurse slash is so strange. It really looked like nothing or, at worse, that it caught Hintz right on the skate laces and made his foot go dead.

I actually thought it was major embellishment at first but he didn't come back and was apparently in a boot so I guess not. But I don't know what he could've injured as it was a pretty routine slash and not to a particularly vulnerable area. Just strange.

Having said that... I am kind of expecting Nurse to get suspended. I don't think it would be warranted or justified but I do see the league putting its thumb on the scale in favour of Dallas.
It's a total con job by Dallas.

They knew the game was out of reach at that point & kept him out for the remainder of the game & put him in a walking boot to try & get Nurse suspended since they didn't get the major call. If that happened in the 2nd period when it was 1-0, he was definitely coming back.

If you remember in the SCF last year a Panther player(Luostarainen I think) got hit & had to be carried off the ice because he had obviously blown out his knee & got the major called but then was miraculously back on the bench before the penalty was even over & never missed a shift the rest of the game & playoffs.

This Is Skinner. Lol

If Nurse does get hit with his 1 game annual playoff suspension, i wonder if they get Ekholm in a game or two early?

either that or they're playing Emberson 6 minutes and running 5 D all afternoon

I’d have never guessed he’s 2” taller than Skinner at 6’6”. He’s a big dude and you’re bang on, he sure seems to get beat high.

Here is Knoblauch's response to DeBoer's comments. He pointed out that Dallas has 5 players who have drawn the same (or more) amount of penalties as McDavid in these playoffs.

Love Knoblauch. Clapping back hard yet gently at a veteran coach. f*** Deboer. I just remembered he came in and helped save Maurice’s clueless ass in the Finals.

Those two coaches put together can barely match Knob. Can’t wait to see both of them walking off that bench in the coming weeks..

I had to do a double take that he's listed at 6ft6. He doesn't use his height or reach effectively. He plays as if he's Quicks Size. Ott also has good games bad games.

That said last night he made every stop on intended plays. All 3 goals were more the broken play variety, harder to read.

He's a quality goalie but not my favorite by any means.

“Obviously, after a game, you’re emotional,” Knoblauch said of DeBoer’s comment. “Especially when your player gets — doesn’t return. But to say that Connor McDavid gets preferential treatment is … you know, I’ve been coaching for about 200 games for the Oilers, and I haven’t seen Connor get that special treatment. Probably the standard is higher for him.

“I look at the power plays drawn through the playoffs this year, and Connor has drawn five. The Dallas players have had five players with just as many power plays drawn, or more, than Connor McDavid. I find that hard to believe. I just see how many times he gets slashed and hooked throughout the regular season and playoffs, so I think the standard is actually against him.”

f***ing rights, Knob.

lol I usually don’t do this but I went to the Dallas board GDT and saw that poster MrHieskanen complaining about how Dallas has no bottom 6 energy guys to go out and hit to swing momentum after he was telling me on the main boards how our bottom 6 energy guys will have no impact on the series
Trouble for Dallas and Vegas is they have, had several players not going, not doing anything. For the Stars thats been Robertson, Hintz(in last 6 games doing nothing) Rantanen, Duchene, Dadonov(never does anything) Johnstone. who is lol -15 in the playoffs. So bad he should probably be benched.

An old and small Granlund is being arguably the best Stars player. That should be shameful for their roster. Similarly Vegas best player was Karlsson.

Doesn't matter who your energy guys are if your top players aren't bringing anything. For Dallas its been Sequin and Granlund their best forwards.

The real problem in Dallas is Robertson and Hintz after starring roles have really gravitated to be far lesser players. Jonhson has fallen off the map. I still wonder how Dadonov is in that lineup for years. what a dud.
