Post-Game Talk: Skinner Does Dallas

Yeah and the talking idiots on tv still act like our D is suspect
When Ekholm returns that D group would be insanely deep.

Bouchard
Ekholm
Nurse
Kulak
Klingberg
Walman
Stetcher
Emberton

2-3 top pairing guys (depending on where we slot Nurse--he's arguably No.2 on many teams).
Kulak, Klingbeg, Walman are all legit top 4 d-men.

Its Embersons birthday today, he doesn't get to play because we're solid at D, and he gets his name spelled wrong on the BD cake...
Or is he Emberson. I always call him Emberton. I guess it rhymes better to my non-native English speaker ear.

I definitely see how it becomes tough once Ekholm returns. I'm guessing we still want an even split of LD and RD.

Ekholm-Bouchard
Nurse-Stecher
Kulak-Klingberg

Man, sitting Walman? maybe we go with 11-7?

Entirely predictable result. Now Dallas has to play in Edmonton where the Oilers get last change and are going torch Dallas's bottom 4 D with McDavid and Draisaitl matchups. Not to mention, the Oilers PP is lights out at home.
The Oilers PP has been quite underwhelming compared to what it was two years ago, when they were torching the poor LA almost at will.

He had several misplays with the puck. He also had a shutout. I know which statement I care about.

Edit: the Oilers, despite creating more chances than almost any other team, do not in fact finish at a high rate. Much better at finishing as usual is a wild statement given the last ~120 games played by the team.
Yup, their team finishing doesn't line up with their high zone time and chance creation.

They were 9.9% team shooting during the regular season and now bumped to 11.9% in playoffs (4th best). Quite remarkable to see them with an 88.1 combined PP and PK (with other final four teams at 108.5 Carolina; 116.2 Florida; and 119.7% Dallas. Absolutely huge to see this team so good with EV scoring and production balanced across the deep lineup. This latter piece is imperative to winning Cup.

Now if they can bump up the PP results and string successful PK result it will get fun!

You didn't see the chainsaw?

It reminded me of this from years and years back, tbh.

It was hard to watch tonight. But it's still an elite PP at home, which is weird that it's so much different than on the road.
