Post-Game Talk: Skinner Does Dallas

But is Hintz in the hospital in emergency surgery?

Who would've thought RNH would be our most effective forward in the Conference Final. 2G, an absolute high IQ play on the pass to Brown. Nuge passed that as a changeup and Brown bunted it down. It was a real hard play for Ott to get a handle on and it was an intentional offspeed pass by Nuge. That goal doesn't happen if Nuge doesn't put english on the pass. Does Nuge pitch in baseball as well? heh

The guy is so freaking smart. His goal as well. Most players wouldn't have got that deflected puck on the first goal.

Dallas fans shouldn't be that upset. Hintz has been awful. Not sure whats up with him but right now they're better off without him.

Pretty bad look by Rantanen only playing well against his former club. he's not done a lot. Stars best player has been Granlund and lol Deboer took him off the PP.

Credit to Oilers D cleaning up so well, impeccably So many times they sweeps out of harms way. That puck that Skinner lost in the crease is a goal except Nurse saved Bacon erasing Robertson who had an empty net.

Oilers D playing great under a lot of forecheck pressure that Dallas brings.

Dallas scoring wise are as night and day as Skinner is in net. Johnson blowing a breakaway, Hintz blowing a breakaway, Dadonov shooting wide on a breakaway. lol stuff.

Speaking of the latter is Dadonov related to the owner or something. He's awful. Whatever Stars pay him is too much. He's a busy player like Arvid but he flubs everything, pretty much like Arvid.
I'd say Stu gets credit for the breakaway saves because he played them positionally perfectly, coming out but not flopping as he backed in. I can't remember which breakaway it was where they said it was shot wide, but it was actually a save, although granted it looked like it came off the shaft of his stick.

But still, if Stu had let in a goal or two this game, like if certain pucks bounced differently, it still would have been a solid performance.

Oettinger was bailed out some times too, like that crossbar chance, where there was room for a goal there, and that puck that just rolled on the line and Heiskanen bailed out his goalie big time.

In the same game he has a shutout he has 3 mindblowing plays with the puck that could've cost us. That misplay of a puck leaving it in his own crease and him sliding out of his cage. my lord.

The icing play where he suddenly played puck had everybody in the rink confused. Including Skinner. He doesn't know why he did it. Still, this was his good game.

Dallas should be ashamed though. They get this chance and who knows if they get another to make a dent in series and they decide to have their pass puck nto the net night or shoot wide on gravy chances night.

Oilers were much better at finishing as per usual. That said on the Nuge goal and Kulak goal its some good fortune that puck blocks went to perfect spots creating both goals. Oilers got the bounces tonight. They say you work for them, and the Oilers did.

Good analysis and I agree, though I will admit that Skinner made some great saves.
