SKA Officially Terminates Matvei Michkov’s Contract - He’s Coming! upd: signs ELC on 7/1

If Michkov works on his skating this offseason and they get a young center for him to play with, I believe he can have a Kane/Kucherov level impact, he is that dude, whatever it is he has it. You could see it when he was a teenager. I’m not slightly surprised at all it’s translating at the NHL level. That being said, who knows if he’ll ever get talent to play with instead of goons that hit, fight and block shots.

Makes you realise the overall lack of young talent the organisation has had for a long time. Since Renberg 32 years ago, the top scoring Flyers rookies have been:

1. Michkov: 50 in 70
2. Gagne: 48 in 80
3. Read: 47 in 79
4. Gostisbehere: 46 in 64
5. Niinimaa: 44 in 77
6. Carter: 42 in 81
7. Umberger: 38 in 73
8. Cates: 38 in 82
9. Fedotenko: 36 in 74
10. van Riemsdyk: 35 in 78

Remember when Biere said Deslauriers will be Michkov's BFF this season?

I can't recall a single time where Deslauriers stood up for Michkov

cut to Nicky Fists in the press box: "ooooooo when I get down on that ice, I will totally be Michkov's gaurdian. Except I wont ever be on the ice as the same time as him, and my fights are mostly staged with other enforcers. Culture!"
