Florida ran a true "plug" 4th line in the 2023 playoffs when they made it to the Finals. Which I guess helps explain why they barely made the playoffs since you're going to rely on your depth a lot more over the course of a long season. They got badly exposed by Vegas, who was a true "4 line" team with a lot of depth. White was 4th line center that playoffs for Florida, which I suppose is a bit of a career highlight unless you consider it being spoonfed 2nd line ice time on a god awful Senators team to get some empty calorie stats a few years prior. He was cooked last year with the Pens. Replacement level player.
No chance he turns it aroundOne of the few 1st round misses in the absolutely stacked 2015 draft.
Hope he can turn it around in San Jose, but bummed to see he never became an NHL mainstay so far.
He can't be worse than Barclay Goodrow (whose name my autocorrect tried to change to "basically history," which I find incredibly appropriate).First the Rantanen trade, now this!? Truly a day filled with big news.
Jokes aside, I really hope White gets some NHL time. I was a big fan when he was with OTT. He's a replacement level guy and only really fills a sweater. But sometimes you need to fill a sweater. *shrug
Well, White is vanilla flavored iced cream. But without vanilla. And iced cream. Seriously. Went 0 points in 28 games last year. Cant win faceoffs. He can't be worse than Barclay Goodrow (whose name my autocorrect tried to change to "basically history," which I find incredibly appropriate).
Being a Jet fan …. I saw him dominate that tourny…. And wanted to draft him with our 2 nd 1 st round pick (Buf @#26) of course the Jets had allready drafted Connor at 17th OA.He was great for USA in the World Juniors in 2017.
I have no update about the last eight years.
I believe the AHL indeed does not count for those purposes.Did White not have to pass waivers after signing a NHL deal? I thought if you played in a pro league and then signed the same season you had to, like DeAngelo. Or does AHL not count for that?
Ah, interesting. And thank you.I believe the AHL indeed does not count for those purposes.
