I mean is it possible the 21 games he played with Pens were a mirage?
He was having a huge problema in his personal life that season. Also Sullivan had no idea how to deal with Granlund which is not a surprise..

If i remember right, his ex-Wife splitted with him and took his kid to Finland. He figured out those problems next summer and been great ever since, as he was in Nashville year before those problems!

Silly take. Granlund has been really good this season, arguably the the best rental forward available (I mean from a seller team, so not including a guy like Rantanen).
He does well when he's force fed top line minutes like now in SJ, but not so well when he's a middle 6 player, and in Dallas he'll be the latter...

you still dont get it, there will be no your A team top6 in the game 5 on the finals
It seems like you don't get it, if you don't have your A team for you top 6, how do you think your defence will look by that point?

Dallas is already ahead of the game if their forwards get injuries. Guys like Dadonov and Stankoven are playing third line minutes and can jump into the top 6 when required. Marchment will be back well before the playoffs as well so there's another forward who can play top 6 minutes.

The defence is not in the same spot, especially with Heiskanen down

Don't disagree that a dman should have been prioritized, but what dman is available that would move the needle for them?
Fair question, imo Dallas should've been in on Pettersson who got dealt yesterday

Outside of him the market is still relatively quiet so we need to wait to see how it shakes out in terms of names coming out. There's still 5 weeks to go till the deadline

A right side of Lyubushkin, Dumba, Ceci when you have championship aspirations in the year 2025 is certainly a choice
It was Miro / Boosh / Lundkvist ubtil injuries. Lindell is filling in as the top RD until Miro is back (and we have a 20 yr old as out #2LD filling in for Lindell)

Dumba is 8th on the depth chart / will get sent down as aninjury replacement for next year (or bought out or traded this offseason). Awful signing, move on

He'd be another lefty joining a team with Heiskanen/Harley/Lindell/Bichsel as lefties. Even with Heiskanen playing on the right side, I don't think it would have made sense and there'd be no room for Pettersson.

Honestly, with their current young players and prospects, plus all their upcoming high picks, plus the ripening cap over the next 5 years, Sharks are looking like a lock to win the Cup in, like, 2030.

Guessing you don't follow Dallas, but Heiskanen plays on the right side and will be back for playoffs

Ceci isn't terrible for the 3rd pairing and Dumba will be the 7th Dman

Also, I don't get the Lyubushkin hate on here, he's been solid this year for Dallas

I was under the impression Heiskanen was only playing RD this year because their right side is so bad. Obviously he's talented enough to play either side and with Harley and Lindell on the left it makes sense. Lyubushkin is a bottom pair D

Ceci is an absolutely fine bottom pairing defenseman, he's a little underrated. Granlund is a great player, but will drive you mad from holding onto the puck a second too long, and he's kinda been on the edge of being too hurt to play basically the entire season.

Rooting for both of them in Dallas.
