Yup it's getting rave reviews: Sinners (2025) | Rotten Tomatoes

All the Youtubers saying similar, "favorite movie of the year so far" as John Campea said.

Though I must say the largest daily newspaper in Finland Helsingin Sanomat gave it "only" 3/5, the critic citing that the movie was better before the vampires arrived. The only print movie/tv magazine also gave it 3/5. Seems they loved everything happening before that.

I just found out about this movie today. I will most likely see it in the next week.

Where was the advertising? You have the director of a billion dollar franchise and one of the most famous stars in the world and I haven't seen one billboard, one tv add, etc. meanwhile I'm getting flooded with Thunderbolts and all the summer films.

Honestly that sounds like a you thing.

I've been seeing a bunch of stuff about this movie for a few weeks now.

Pretty much since the day the review embargo lifted and it was at 100% its been all over the place.

Haven't seen it yet but plan to this week.

First 75%, 9/10. Final ~25% 6/10. Felt like it fell apart off kicked off. Coogler had a similar issue with Black Panther imo. Great director except for action sequences.

Also, stay through the first part of the credits.

Nah I haven't seen a single thing about it until people started posting clips on IG reels.

Read the poster below me. No billboards, no adds in paper,no posters, no adds on tv, nothing.

I haven't eaten seen it on YouTube yet have seen plenty for Thunderbolts and Fantastic Four. They didn't go all in for the advertising and have probably left money on the table.

I hadn't heard of this move either until reviews started coming out, but tbh I barely see ads anymore at all.

Looks great, nice to see an original movie doing well.

There's two post credits scenes, the middle one being about 10 minutes, I hear.

Awesome movie, reminds me of From Dusk Till Dawn where it starts off as a different movie, then halfway through shit hits the fan.

Not a horror fan typically but it was one of the best movies I've seen in a bit.

There's a scene just before everything really kicks off in the back half that was truly exceptional.

Saw it last weekend. Very creative take on the vampire subgenre. I do have one minor gripe though

The weird fake out death with Stack and Mary just seemed a bit...I can't think of a good word other than contrived but that doesn't really capture my point. They give Smoke this Django-esque ending with a sweet finish but a lot of what drives his reckless attack on the klans people is he's basically lost everyone he loves including his brother.

So Stack and Mary are spared and they leave the growing vampire I guess posse or coven and live freely as vampires...but how? They all seemed to operate as basically a hive mind. So how did Stack and Mary manage to break away without the rest of the vampires knowing? Why would they have wanted to? And the whole thing is based on a deal not to hurt preacher boy but they made it before they were done dealing with the rest of the vampires? Stacks death worked better as a tragic motivator to fuel Smoke forward. All this convoluted stuff just to give one of the brothers a sort of happy ending and to give Preacher Boy a an even happier ending than he already had?

I don't know, the movie as a whole was pretty well written but that ending left me scratching my head

I think you're not focusing on the right things. He doesn't let the Preacher Boy live, he lets the Blues Man live.
