Now that single game betting is legal I'm somewhat interested in putting down a bit on various games.

With the proliferation of online, is there any advantage to placing your bet on various sites or even different provincial sites if the odds are the same?

I believe its not taxed unless its shown that its a "job"

Would you have to pay taxes if you placed a bet on the BC gov site, but lived in Ontario? Other than supporting a different province?

Thanks

The odds are almost equal for all sites. Some are higher, some are lower. Some sites have more options. I believe most or all sites offer the same incentives, such as early victories, parlay bonuses within the same game, free bets, deposit credits. E.g. I like betting on/against nba players whereas some sites are limited in this functionality.

To pay taxes on sports gambling, you’d have to make it a business. You would need consistent profits and a crazy infrastructure for it to be taxed. 99.9% of sports gamblers don’t fall in this category.

It doesn’t matter if you bet in a different province. For example, I use an offshore broker and no, the one i use isn’t very good. It’s average.

The government banning single game betting is ridiculously stupid.
