And one of the biggest changes is a move away from goonish fighting. What Max did was goonish. Please explain how your thinking the game should be played keeps the Leaf skilled players (Matthews, for example) from being attacked exactly how Domi attacked Nemec?

What Domi did was a scumbag move. Oftentimes, those scumbag moves help you win hockey games and bring you closer together as a team.

They can also backfire and cause the other team to rally against you - case in point, when Max's dad pulled the ultimate scumbag move and sucker punched Niedermayer followed by the Devils embarrassing the Leafs to close out the series.

i loved what domi did. Was what Nemec did worth a scrap? not really. But id rather a response over nothing. Send a message to other teams.

Last year when Gudas dummied Kampf in the playoffs with a late hit, the entire Toronto line just stood there and did absolutely nothing. Id like to think if that happened this year, that guy is getting jumped by 4 leafs players.

Just like i hate Wilson and another example Marchand but would absolutely love having either of them on my team.

Im not disagreeing with you about Domi, but i would much rather have him then not have him. He plays that fine line that gets people rattled but also isnt an offensive black hole. you need as many of those guys as you can get come playoff time.
