No, Cammalleri!!

Nah, he's talking about Smyth.

Dean did Gagne a solid the same way he did when he moved Conroy to Calgary several years ago. Good luck to Simon. At least we have a real rooting interest in the East now.

And one of those picks we got turned into... Dwight King.

It's a 3rd rounder.. what has he done to expect more? I don't know why any Kings fans should be upset. Gagne hasn't done much as a King. And he won't be putting up 20 goals. too many fans are living in the past.

This. 100%.

Gagne is nearly done if he's not already. He shies away from hits, which doesn't work for a team like L.A.

Important to note that the 4th round pick ultimately belonged to Phoenix originally, so it will be based on Phoenix's performance and not Philadelphia's. Which means it may very well be a lower pick.

... unless it's the likely third rounder when Philly makes the playoffs.

Dean looking for some more karma. Treating Conroy and Gagne well when things didn't work out helps in the signing of veteran UFAs as well.

Get the **** out of my head! ;)

Not only did DL do Gagne a solid, but he probably knows that he could have gotten more for him elsewhere. Whatever the case may be, I'm THRILLED for Gagne, and I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Gagne having one of his best seasons in a long time.

Thanks Simon and best of luck to you!

Hopefully offset some of the bad blood around the NHL that dean caused with his screw job off visnovsky.

I'd wager by now, that's a distant memory to many, even agents. It was almost 5 years ago. A cup and moves like this have more than off-set that crap move. In fact even I forget about it until someone on this message board brings it up. So yeah, thanks for the reminder ;)

Was what DL did to Visnovsky that bad? I don't recall. Players get traded all the time. How was this different?

Signed him to an extension with a NTC then traded him three days before the NTC kicked in. It wasn't BAD per say, but it was not what I'd call a classy move by any stretch.

Don't forget about trading Brad Stuart to the Red Wings at the trade dead line in 08. The wings won the cup that year and went to the finals the next year.

Don't forget that was a discount rate he signed for mere days after being eligible to resign. He could have waited to resign to ensure that what happened didn't but he never expected the poor way dl would treat him.

Lombardi never expected Lubo to start crapping the bed 10 seconds after he signed the contract. Lombardi didn't do Lubo any favors that's for sure, but let's not pretend Lubo had nothing to do with it. He was down right awful for pretty much an entire season.

Revisionist history. His season only became "down right awful" after he was traded.

Any interest in okposo ? He is having another rough season so far, maybe king and a pick could snag him.

Vis didnt even play and was traded. I had nothing to do with pope performance which is why vis badmouthed dl to every russian need outlet that would listen. It was dirty pool and dl Took a ton of heat from nhl people with an opinion.

The contract extension was signed in July, 2007 and he was traded June 29, 2008. So he played the 2007-2008 season after signing the extension. The extension was slated to kick in on July 1, 2008, so DL traded him three days before that, which is what pissed everyone off.

But Vis did play after signing the extension, and he did perform noticably worse than he did in 2006-2007, prior to signing the extension.

He wasn't traded during the season. Who is revising history?

You want to know why Lubo was traded? Here are his stats the season before he signed his deal with one year remaining on his existing contract and then his stats after he signed the deal, but prior to the new contract and NTC kicking in.

2006-07 GP-69 G-18 A-40 Pts-58 PIMs-26 +/- +1
2007-08 GP-82 G-8 A-33 Pts-41 PIMs-34 +/- -18

Lubo was a turnover machine during the 2007-08 season.

Sorry, but it had everything to do with poor performance. Ask Dean or anyone else in the organization you can trust.

I remember Dean taking heat from some agents, but he made the right move for the organization. Visnovsky should thank him for giving him a contract that no team would have given him after the 2007-08 debacle.

Didn't DL also make the final decision to do a full rebuild right around when Vis was traded? If I remember correctly, he does not look back at that trade with any pride, but something done out of necessity.
