Significant injury-cases that have happened to NHL-players during the IIHF World Championships ?

Not a senior WC but Kirby Dach is the most obvious recent case. That one really set his career back.

In 2014 Dmitry Orlov broke his wrist and it resulted in missing almost all of the 2014/15 season. Also in 2014 Andrei Loktionov, who was kind of a serviceable young NHLer at that time, injured his shoulder and never played in the NHL again.

Regarding Loktionov he was borderline NHL player and he was not long-time injured, played in the KHL next season, perhaps better paid there than in the AHL.
Regarding Orlov, missing more than 1 year is what I'm looking for (current system insuring NHL players will cover their present contract).

So, until now we have no cases of proven NHL players that have been long-time injured more than 1 year during the IIHF World Championships

- so asking for insurance for their future maybe-contracts is outrageous and EP40 and his agent must be told that they can shove that kind of future-insurance claim up their a$$, otherwise all young(ish) NHL players and their agents will be asking for the same treatment.
