Boston Bruins Sign Dan Locmelis

He kind of feels like Danton Heinen but stronger on the puck.

IF the Bruins get a Danton Heinen level out of him, they knocked it out of the park for a 4th round pick (same as Heinen). Then @MarchysNoseKnows and I will be in agreement that he was a GREAT draft pick. I am looking forward to seeing what he can do in Providence.

I liked his college game. When they made the pick I was thinking "skill" player but he plays all zones, has good tenacity, responsible. Has some sweet hands. You have to really hope one of these type prospects they have breaks out and turns into a bonafide top 6 forward down the road

I'd be ecstatic too if that ends up being the case. Anytime you can turn a mid round+ pick into a NHL regular, its a win.

I remember seeing a post saying he is pretty adamant on playing in the worlds in May. Will he still be going?
From what I understand he wants to play for Providence aleady this season.
Whether he will play in the WC depends on how many players Boston sends down to Providence after the season.
+ Has a decent chance playing in Olympics.

I don't see that with Locmelis. Think he will be at best a 3rd line guy and more than likely a fringe NHL player. Better bet is that Poitras and Lysell develop into a top 6 role along with the 2025 1st rounder from the current prospects to augment Pastrnak,
Zacha and Geekie and whomever they sign as a FA next couple of years.
